 NHS Fife

Word is it's going to see its budget cut considerably and likelihood is the QMH will be further downgraded. Anyone heard this? May just be folk peddling nonsense.

Seems ridiculous that Dunfermline keeps growing yet health services are being reduced.

Mostly midwife and nursing positions to be cut. Don't know how that will effect QMH. If services for the region are to be centralised it makes sense for them not to be situated in Dunfermline.

If the Tories cut NHS funding would that also be good management?

If there are to be cuts, then cut the administration, not the nursing staff. Reminds me of the Python skit of the hospital with no patients equipped with the expensive machine that goes "BING"...

£350 million more each week into the NHS after brexit, doesn't look like the tories are going to cut funding.

The NHS should never be used as a political tool unless evidence of privatisation.

Problem with this is Oz then clinical staff then get dragged into doing administrative tasks and it reduces face to face clinical time further as the jobs have to be done, often for medicolegal reasons or ensuring appropriate communication with patient's GP. Many services don't have enough administration support already.

Ah yes, Boris, Farage and Co. managed to dupe quite a few voters with that claim. They conveniently omitted mentioning that around £250m comes back to the UK every week, to fund a vast variety of projects.

If the NHS ever get that sum as extra funding, I'll arrange to have my crown jewels cut off without anaesthetic.......

"The NHS should never be used as a political tool unless evidence of privatisation."

Good time to bring this back - Virgin Health got around £2 Billion in NHS contracts last year and SUED the NHS for £2 Million to ensure they for one of those contracts, as per the Guardian this morning. And some folk (like Tenruh, if they're being serious above) think the Tories give a damn about the NHS. The worst of it is that there will be Scottish Labour supporters who voted Tory up here to "stop the SNP" which directly led to their winning a majority and this sort of thing becoming the norm.
