Alex Ferguson
Alex Ferguson
By dafc.net - Fri, 26th Dec 2003

Signed from St Johnstone in June 1964 in a swap deal that saw Dan McLindon move north to Perth. Made 137 appearances for the club in three years, scoring a very impressive total of 90 goals, including seven hat-tricks. A robust centre forward who was renowned for his use of the elbows, by his own admission Fergieís best playing days were spent at East End Park.

He played in 13 of the clubís European fixtures, scoring 6 times. In season 1965/1966 Alex scored a remarkable 39 goals, including 31 in the league, the most scored by a Pars player in the top flight. In July 1967, Alex moved to Rangers for £60,000, and spent two years at Ibrox. He then moved to Falkirk and Ayr United, before moving into management at East Stirlingshire.
