Ayr United Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Sunday, 21st Feb 2010

Highlights from interviews given by Tam McManus, Brian Reid and Jim McIntyre after the game against Ayr United at East End Park.

Tam McManus
The former Pars man is delighted at getting three points at such a hard venue and against a good side. He admits he is happy to score against two of his former clubs in the space of a week. The goal scorer pays homage to the way Dunfermline play their football and also to a few of the players at the club.

Brian Reid
Another former Dunfermline player, Brian Reid, now manages Ayr United and he also felt that the result was fantastic against a top team. Although the home side put his team under pressure Reid always felt the players were comfortable and could have scored another couple themselves.

Jim McIntyre
Jim believes the teams performance was very poor, having started well, it fell away from then on. He felt the team wasn`t brave enough to get the ball down and do what they are good at, passing and moving. Resorting too often to the long ball it gave Ayr few problems at the back. The manager takes absolutley no positives from the game and even admits that he, himself, played badly.
