Craig Brewster says he will relish his return to Easter Road when Dunfermline play Hibs on Wednesday.

He said: "I`m looking forward to the game. I had an enjoyable time with Hibs last year but I had to leave when they said they couldn`t offer me anything.

"Jimmy Calderwood came in for me and that was that. But I`m treating it like any other game. I will be going out like every player to try and win the game and help my team-mates."

Brewster hopes the Pars can banish the memory of the 6-0 defeat to Rangers with a win over Hibs, which would be their first win there in 40 years.

He added: "The way we started against Rangers was quite bright, then it was goal after goal and a landslide.

"That`s all in the past now and tonight is a big night for both teams.

"Our training`s been good and the boys are up for it, the Rangers game has been put to the back of everyone`s mind and we are focused on playing against Hibs.

"You hope to score in every game you play and I`ll do my best for the team. I`m sure we`ll get goals from somewhere in the team.

"But Hibs will have got a boost after getting a win under their belt and they will be determined to follow that with another victory at home.

"What we need to do is match them for work rate and effort, and if we play better than them hopefully we will get the three points."

East End Park boss Jimmy Calderwood reckons Berti Vogts should partner Stevie Crawford with Craig Brewster when the Scots face Iceland next month.

Ex-Hibs striker Brewster is now 35, but Calderwood feels he and current internationalist Crawford could make an impact.

Crawford certainly helped turn the game against the Faroes Islands and Calderwood said: "At Dunfermline, Craig and Stevie are telepathic. They just seem to know instinctively what the other will do.

"They have had a flying start to the season and produced many goals. Berti should rely on experienced players."
