Dunfermline Athletic

International PAR

Author: Brian Donovan Date: Wednesday, 30th Aug 2000

The possibility of Andrius Skerla playing for Lithuania has raised questions over who was the last Par to pull on an international jersey.

The 23 year old centre back already had 22 international appearances to his credit when he joined Dunfermline from PSV at the beginning of the 2000/01 season.

The last Dunfermline Athletic player to be capped for his country was Colin Miller. He got his last Canadian cap as a Pars player against Costa Rica on 16th November 1997. The Canadians lost that game 3-1.

This game was also his final Canadian cap. In total he gained 61 caps for Canada.

A full list of the appearances he made whilst a Pars player are:

10/01/96 Honduras Gold Cup

12/01/96 Brazil Gold Cup

30/08/96 Panama World Cup Qualifier

10/10/96 Cuba World Cup Qualifier

13/10/96 Cuba World Cup Qualifier

27/10/96 Panama World Cup Qualifier

03/11/96 El Salvador World Cup Qualifier

15/11/96 El Salvador World Cup Qualifier (Substitute)

02/03/97 Mexico World Cup Qualifier

16/03/97 USA World Cup Qualifier

06/04/97 El Salvador World Cup Qualifier

01/06/97 Costa Rica World Cup Qualifier

07/09/97 Jamaica World Cup Qualifier

12/10/97 Mexico World Cup Qualifier

09/11/97 USA World Cup Qualifier

16/11/97 Costa Rica World Cup Qualifier

Colin Miller left the Pars in the middle of March 1998.

The CSA total of 16 caps is at odds with the total of 15 quoted in the Club programme when he left. I can only assume that they didn't include his substitute appearance against El Salvador.
