Openness and Honesty required

Author: Brian Duncan Date: Wednesday, 4th Jul 2012

Thankfully a decision by the SPL today (Wednesday) on the outcome of newco. However, it still seems honesty is still far from the SPL with regard to which team becomes Club12.

Following on from a rather unexpected day when a decision was finally made (shock !), as we had expected further delays from an indecisive SPL, we then hear that Dundee have been advised they cannot vote in the SFL meeting next week to decide the fate of newco rangers.

All seems a very strange decision as nothing has been said or reported on who would become Club 12 in the SPL. Precedence previously has no name in this game.

My first question is Why the heck do we have to wait yet another week ? It is a total disgrace that this whole situation has not been sorted long before now as teams have to plan for the start of a new season in two weeks time. John Yorkston has righly stated that both teams need to know even if it means Dundee moving up to SPL.

Perhaps those leaders in our organisations may think that by delaying clubs will have decisions foisted on them. Thankfully the clubs can see through this smokescreen and are taking integrity seriously.

I have just updated this story due to the BBC having their story amended. I thought it strange regarding some of the comments from Dundee but it seems like the BBC had interpreted the story incorrectly, they have now updated their web site. I had said it was strange that Dundee had heard from some sources that they could not vote and I was asking the question why things were not done in an open way.

James Forrest suggests that we ask our clubs to get an SFL EGM, we must do this with the utmost urgency.

Regan, Doncaster and Longmuir - On Yer Bikes !

On the matter of `malice` by everybody against `newco`, the only abiding matter that everybody is looking at is fair-play. Oldco Rangers broke (smashed) the rules and now the newco expect everybody to continue breaking the rules. I think enough rules have been broken in the past. and we should move forward.
