Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 26th Feb 2007

Highlights from interviews given by Stephen Kenny, Dick Campbell, Jamie McCunnie and Owen Morrison after the Scottish Cup game against Partick Thistle at EEP.

Stephen Kenny
Stephen was happy with the performance and response he got from the players and realises it was a very good win for the club. However, he does point out that he is not one to celebrate reaching a semi-final and he is only really looking to get to a final. Kenny points out that home form is starting to come back for The Pars as they have beaten Partick, Rangers and Hearts in the last 5. On Owen Morrisons situation, Kenny talks about China and how it is a big move, its not the easiest one to make with completely different cultural view points and it is the other side of the world, he could play an imporatant role in the rest of the season. He rubbishes the view that Dunfermline are already relegated and explains that the players are well up for the fight and are signing new contracts to back this up. On Simmons yellow card, Stephen tells us he isnt a great believer in the rules on antagonising opposition support and feels there is a grey area on what constitutes such an act worthy of a booking.

Dick Campbell
Campbell explains that having made the best plans possible they were scuppered after 3 minutes with the early goal, which was the worst case scenario. He pays tribute to Dunfermlines wide players and believes they would cause anyone problems but he was looking to frustrate Dunfermline from the outset. He feels his side started the second half well but never really brought out a save in the keeper from the pressure they had. Dick has no complaints about the result as it was the correct one with the chances and the quality of the goals scored by the home team. He is amazed at the speed of the referee`s bookings he doesnt see why some people get booked for such minor things but thats the way it goes. Dick is very proud of the Partick fans that travelled through and is dissapointed for them having not gave them much to cheer about.

Jamie McCunnie
Jamie speaks of his involvment for the first time in a while and is happy to get back having been injured and then ill. He believes that the reason Dunfermline do better in the cup than the league is probably the lack of pressure, he feels that was certainly true of the Ranger and Hearts ties but not so much against Partick as they went in favorites. Stephen Kenny has helped his game and he talks to the players individually, he also gives praise to the attacking play that Kenny has instilled into the team by introducing the wide players.

Owen Morrison
Owen has not been offered a new contract and was looking at a move to China, however there has been a turn and the manager has told him to fight for his place in the team until the end of the season. He has been offered a contract in China to begin in June but is unsure if he wants to take it as he would rather stay at Dunfermline and give his all to impress the manager. In the draw Owen would obviously rather avoid Celtic but will take each game as it comes and if it is Celtic, so be it.
