Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Wednesday, 25th Apr 2007

Highlights from interviews given by Stephen Kenny, Dorus De Vries, Gary Mason and Jamie McCunnie after the Scottish Cup Semi Final Replay at Hampden.

Stephen Kenny
Stephen is thrilled for his players and everyone else connected with the club who have all had a difficult season to say the least. He believes that Dunfermline could be one of the SPL`s real influential clubs, being the biggest club in Fife and having such a rich history. The players are the biggest thing at the club and he praises them for working so hard throughout the season and getting their reward. Kenny speaks of Mason`s booking which he feels is very harsh but showed his commitment by putting everything into getting his team mates to the final regardless of his suspension. Hibs for Kenny probably were the better team, pinning the his players back but he felt they got to grips with it as the second half wore on and were able to get up the field and cause a few problems. On McIntyre he explains he never knew the striker would chip the penalty but gives him credit for coming back from a very risky operation he was advised not to have to prolong his carear and he deserves to get that goal. Having been in Europe with most of his former club Kenny isplanning on making an impact in Europe and not simply going through the motions.

Dorus De Vries
Dorus is very happy to be in his first cup final but knows that the league is the priority for the club with the next few games being wholly influential, to his contract talks. He explains that he knew that it was a big game but he knew they could do it infront of a small crowd, he hopes its the last semi-final replay to take place in the Scottish Cup.

Gary Mason
Gary is over joyed at the result and praises the fans who he thought were unbelievable and deserved to enjoy the win. Although the team were often under pressure Gary realises that they also had chances to score throughout the match. Speaking on the St.Mirren game he admits its a massive game but he and the rest of the players have been given a major confidence boost following the recent results.

Jamie McCunnie
Jamie explains itas a massive result that came after and entertaining games with both teams going for it. He too speak about McIntyres audacious penalty, although Jim had spoken about it in training he never thought for one second would actually try it, never mind pull it off. The final and uefa cup spot is massive for the club but its a sign of the changing fortunes at the club since the appointment of Stephen Kenny, although St.Mirren are in the driving seat Jamie Dunfermline are in the acendancy. He is looking forward to the cup final and believes that the team will go and have a go at Celtic and try and win the game, not just make up the numbers.
