Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Saturday, 1st Jan 2005

Highlights from interviews given by Davie Hay, Greg Ross, Scott Wilson and Andy Tod after the New Years Day game against Dundee.

Davie Hay
Davie is very pleased with the teams start to 2005 and especially happy to see his star striker, Andy Tod, scoring an alleged hat trick. He gives praise to his midfield who he felt improved significantly on last weeks performance which was all the more impressive in the trying conditions. Davie gains no satisfaction from silencing the critical fans who have been jeering him for the past few weeks, he feels it has no bearing on the way the team conducts itself on the park. The need for another striker is underlined and Davie is able to tell us that a few trialists have been lined up for the month ahead.

Greg Ross
Greg is surprised to have kept his place in the squad upon the return of Thompson but is pleased with his performance and link up play with fellow youngster Aaron Labonte. He is taking each game as it comes and hopes to keep his place for the next weeks cup-tie at Bayview

Scott Wilson
Scott acknowledges that the team has been playing well but has been void of any luck, which happened to make an appearance today. He is happy for Tod to have got a few goals because of the criticism he is given for his attacking play but points out that he is the clubs highest scorer so far this season. Scott is adamant that the players want to pull themselves back up the table but know that the danger from the bottom clubs isn’t at all over and they will have to keep up the work rate.

Andy Tod
Andy confesses that he didn’t manage to score a hat trick and that the second goal did indeed come off a defenders head. He is very happy to see the side winning again and realises it was a good performance to go with the 3 points. Toddy explains that he is only interested in playing and doesn’t care what position it is, as we know already he always gives 100% wherever he performs. He is delighted to get the result for the manager and ease the pressure on the club as a whole, a run of results is all that is needed to climb the table.
