Resigned from Livingston, after a fall out with the board. Now wants to focus on his playing career. Rumoured to be going to St Mirren.

That must be an all time record for shortest managerial career of a club in terms of league matches ?

Then there's Frank Sauzee who never won a league match as Hibs manager.

That's a weird one.
I watched an interview with him yesterday in which he was saying how much he was enjoying his time there.
Back to Sevco maybe?... Stranger things have happened.

Nothing to do with Results, completely to do with behind the scenes goings on and a fallout!!

Very bizarre! Perhaps why Hopkin was so keen to leave?

It's been a horrible start for the promoted teams what with losing their managers and some bad results. Could see Stubbs not lasting long either.

In terms of short reigns here are a few from the English game-10 minutes will take some beating!

Livingston’s statement makes it sound even more bizarre.

Basically, the board told Kenny Miller that he’s a terrible footballer and they want to terminate his player registration, so that he can’t pick himself anymore. They were then surprised that he wanted to leave.

"The club felt that the Player-Manager role wasn’t working and had requested that Kenny reverted to the a full time Manager’s role. Kenny however feels that he isn’t ready to give up his football career at this time"

Not sure thats what they are saying 91, essentially its the same for any player manager can you really get an understanding of whats happening on the field while you're on it yourself ? Are they not inferring he's neglecting the manager role by playing ?

Boy at work mentioned the player/manager bit was on a three month probationary period and they have taken advantage of a loophole by ditching him during that period to avoid being liable for the full whack in terms of compensation on his contract.

Would take him here in a heartbeat. Perfect replacement for Clark. Wages obviously an issue.

without giving Ryan a chance he would be the perfect 18 yard box player, with the distribution we have to the box having a predator in there like Miller would see him bag a good few at this level!

He was demoted to the reserves at Ibrox. He is by most accounts sacked now at Livingston.
He is the very last thing Dunfermline need.

The Livingston situation was discussed on Radio Scotland last night. It was stated that the assistant manager, David Martindale, who is now the caretaker manager I think, has served time for drug dealing. They seem to have an unusual recruitment policy.

Exactly, he’s done the crime and served his time, he’s been at that club through both promotions.

With their recruitment of Martindale, Gallagher and Lithgow, Livi have certainly done their bit for rehabilitation of offenders.

Why?? As it’s money made from crime and selling drugs not recovered by the fiscal that was used as an investment vehicle to buy shares in Livingston FC. £100k buy in.....

No issue with someone serving there time but I do not agree with proceeds of crime being used to supplement a lifestyle.

In light of that surprised they haven't gone for Goodwillie and Craig Thomson too.

Seems to be a replacement for Craig Wighton, who is set to join Hearts in a £250k deal.

If i had those charges on my record and went for a job with Pars Community i would fail to receive a disclosure to enable me to work in a coaching environment.

With Miller being registered as a player with both Rangers and Livingston in the TW is he able to move again? or was his move prior to the TW opening?

It used to be the case that you could be registered with 3 clubs during a season but only appear for 2. I'm not sure if that's still the case though.

he was released before the window opened but that isn't the issue, you cant play for 3 teams in a season so whether its Dundee or another club just now there is no problem.

bit surprised that rule is still in place though or hasn't been challenged by a player or players union.

You wouldn't fail to get a disclosure. You would get one with your record listed.
An employer can then decide whether you are too risky to employ or not.
