 No kilts at Boreham
Topic Originator: General Zod
Date:   Thu 23 Aug 13:59

I sincerely hope nobody has thought about wearing a kilt to this game. I know ugly guys need them in the hope they’ll get attention from females but please, it’s a football match we’re going to, not a wedding. I’m already cringing at the thought of kilts with trainers.

😏

Fashion Police? Not sure that'll work Zod.

I take it you also disagree with the Tartan Army wearing their kilts when following Scotland too.

I do agree that I cringe sometimes at the accompanying footwear and tops that we see supporters with kilts wearing but have no issue with them ....
as long as the kilt is worn with respect.

Nothing wrong with Zods request.
He's entitled to his opinion.
He prefers the more "subtle" approach to supporting the national side....

Couldnt agree more. I hate seeing the kilt worn like a rag.
It would be braw to see a load of you wearing the black and white pars tartan..or your own clan tartan but I hate seeing folk adorn any tartan available just for the sake of it. Usually worn too low or worse, too high. And get the sock right eh. Just below the knee or rolled right down. Half way up the calf is just tinky.

Kneel down back straight. Kilt should just touch the floor.

Walking boots or brogues. Never trainers.

Rant over.

Get yer kilts on, you are Scottish be proud of it

Don’t let those who can’t carry it off tell you what you should or should not wear
If you dont want to wear a kilt then don’t, if you do then wear it with pride,

what’s next?
nobody over 30 to wear a Pars shirt? or if you have a beer belly at all?
you are not allowed to wear double denim?
Please don’t have a haircut that is not out of hollyoaks?
Ladies you are not allowed to attend if you don’t look like you could do a stint on Love Island?

Get a grip ffs! People are going to enjoy themselves, I can assure you if I was going I would be resplendent in the Mclachlan plaid (sadly I’m not, really looking forward to the pics though)

Wearing kilts against a team who have history of hooliganism from what I've read and on the day of an England match-is that advisable?

It's not for us that we wear it Zod - It is to promote Scottish culture and awareness of ethnic diversity (as well as giving the Boreham lassies a change of scenery).

If I want to wear my kilt then I will. At what point when starting this did you think that someone would actually listen to you?
I wear my kilt home and away to scotland games and it brings joy every country we visit. Just because you don’t like it does not mean you should dictate what people wear to a game of football. This goes with the thinking that any adult should not wear a football top.
The more kilts the better in my opinion. Don’t be put off by people telling you otherwise.

Seriously. He was joking....how can you not see that. He even put a winky face on.

I on the other hand quite agree that you can wear a tartan dish cloot and a tweed string vest if that's in your comfort zone, but I reserve the right to tell you that it doesn't look good.

Nobody is ever wrong in art or fashion. It is all about opinion.
All I am saying is if you can't see that you look a sair sicht then your opinion would benifit from some adjustment.

I'm with ZOD here. Despite living in Germany I don't need to advertise I'm Scottish.
I'm fine with those that travel and yes it attracts attention abroad as I've seen at BVB games but it is a bit cringey to do this in England Imo.
