Looks like Usain Bolt is finding it tough to transform from a runner into a footballer here in Oz.

Not surprising really.... For years he's been used to training for a 10 second sprint. Now he has to train to run (a bit slower) for 90 minutes.

Bobby Lennox could do umpteen sprints all over the park for 90 minutes in his prime - a player who could cover ground like the Duracell bunny.

Closer to home, Kenny Thomson wasn't too bad either VEE. Wasn't he the fastest footballer in Scotland back in the day? I vaguely remember there being some race at Powderhall or maybe Meadowbank where he sprinted home first.

Kenny Thompsons dad organised training for sprinters in the 60's and 70's at Townhill Park. Remember him spurring people on along the 100 yard cinder track by the Pavillion. No doubt young Kenny would have been involved as the family lived in the village.

Yes Oz, you are correct.

In fact if memory serves, Kenny won that sprint more than once.

A good servant to the club, released far too early to end his career at Alloa.

Kenny Thomson - all arms and legs and a bit light weight - but it was his "out the blocks" pace that won him many a loose ball.
