Is that a 4-4-2? Have they ditched the 3-5-2 experiment or is it too early to say?

probably 4132, it wont mean they have ditched the 352 from the first team.

1-0 killie now

Potentially 6 first team players in that team.

Ouch.

That seems unfair. If he had been sent off in a first team match he wouldn't have been able to 'use it' against reserve team games.

“no eck Ryans ban will include first team mates”

By that logic, you can do anything you want in the reserve league a Yellow and Straight Red every game and you are still eligible next game to play the next reserve game, just not a full team game?

Just had a thought, is it that you can only play for the reserves if you have no bans in place, therefore all players would have to wait until they have missed the required full team games?

in the past it would have been a first team ban but now I think the ban will be for the next reserve game.

"Do we have a defence in any team?"

Morrison was the only out and out defender in that back 4 today, Allan can play there, Craigen and Luke are midfielders and not defensive ones at that.

Am I missing something here?

We put a decent young forward prospect out on loan to a lower division for the second season in a row.

We then take a 19 year old on loan from Hearts, but he too has been on loan to Queens Park.

We then play a reserve game, being hammered, without that new loanee, Keena, getting a game.

Baffling.

Who scored plenty of goals in a short space of time at Queens Park...Smith was poor at Alloa hardly scored and seemingly hasn’t set the heather on fire at Arbroath

I actually did, felt he was a real positive last season but truthfully think he’s not good enough. Perhaps the Hearts lad isn’t either but time will tell.

I’d like to see Smith make it being local but that’s not enough sadly.

Fair do's. I'm just not a fan of loans generally.

Can't think of many where either the player or the team's have greatly benefited.

I'd take far more satisfaction watching Smith play and progress for us than some other teams young player.

That's my thinking, unless we have such a rich lot of talent that we just can't fit a young player in.

Even if a loan player shines for us we are unlikely to sign him and he returns to his old club. If he doesn't do much for us like Reilly, he goes anyway and we're left frying to get in someone else.

Anyone that plays really well for us is only here temporarily - whether they are one of our players or a loanee.

One of my favourite loan players was Danny Murphy about 11 years ago. From Motherwell I think, only played 10 games or so but looked brilliant.

Plus obviously Adam Hamill, Jim O’Brien was a loan as well I think

Was Danny Murphy the small left back? Decent player.

There's no difference to a 1 year loan or signing someone on a 1 year contract.
