Boreham Wood are a big strong team playing high balls. We're a smaller team, also playing high balls.
All 3 of their centre halves are 6ft 2 and were lumping balls to Faissals head. Great stuff.

Aye, Longridge beside Faissal. Strange decision as Muirhead doesn't look comfortable out wide.

Purely going by Buffy's updates it sounds like a real borefest with slack play and overhit passes from the Pars. Hope not for the sake of all of the fans who made the trip.

A clean sheet is welcome after losing 12 goals in 4 league games. We needed a result even if it was a win on penalties in a 'Diddy Cup'. The BHW chairman will be gutted his team isn't going to Hampden.

Just back home from Bw.
A scrappy game that we marginally deserved to win even if by penalties which were well taken.
At least we tried to play the ball on the ground against a big, physical team although our finishing left a lot to be desired. Don’t remember their keeper having to make a save.
The ball seemed to spend a lot of time out of play and out the park!

There was more atmosphere in Wetherspoons before the game than at it. Was everyone too tired? Ah well met old friends and made some new ones . Glad we don't play that lot every week - most if them were built like American footballers - huge.

The first Pars game I have been able to get to since Faiss's last game at EEP.
I thought the Pars were marginally the better side especially in the second half. We were poor though. Was the ball(s!) electrified? They were frightened of it. When they had it they seemed not to know what to do with it - except pass it back!
Although BW had big players they were pretty fast too at times and caught our players dithering about far too often. Why is Faiss playing on his own up front often? He needs company and he would be better nearer the wing. I know Higgy is well liked, but didn't rate him today. To be honest there weren't many I did rate!!
To sum up I think we were lucky we were playing an English team in the fifth(?) tier in England and scraped through 6-5 on penalties. We are not a cohesive unit at all, and there was a lot of bickering by players. Never a good sign.
I loved the day though. Meeting fellow supporters and enjoying the banter before, during, and after the game.
One final point. we were sitting in the main stand - next to Buffy, I think - and most of the players could't be bothered to come over and thank us for coming. I had only come 100 miles, but probably everyone else had travelled up to 500 miles. Faissal was the exception, he came over and smiled and had selfies taken.
Well whatever I have said above I am still hoping to come to EEP for the match against the Jags. COYP.

Pretty poor game between two poor teams I thought although we had the only two real chances I'd say - Longridge in the first half when he should have hit it first time but delayed to allow the defender to get a block in, then Connelly near the end when he should have squared it to el Bakhtaoui but tried to score from a disadvantagous angle.
The penalties were all pretty good - most of them played with pace or placed well; even the one that eventually lost them the tie wasn't poorly hit or skied miles over the bar - but other than that the spectacle wasn't too good. Even the atmosphere was strange, with not much in the way of singing or banter until we had a few corners in the second half when there were a few good exchanges between a couple of Pars fans and Borehamwood players.
I think they were probably similar to a lower or mid table Championship team - think Queen of the South without Dobbie - so it was disappointing that we only created two real openings. The set piece delivery in particular was poor and too many players wanted an extra touch or to go themselves rather than passing it to a better placed teammate.
It's a win (of sorts) and a clean sheet, but I'm still a bit nervous for Alloa next week.

United haven't beaten Alloa in 3 attempts this season(twice at home) and we're struggling to even get a shot on target.Scoring first and early would be a help.

Well done pars. No damage done and back to winning again. Bit puzzling that we couldn't register a goal in normal time but scoring is a habit and maybe next game we will start doing it again.

"Not nervous about next week at all.We will murder them."
Ross County only beat them 1-0. They've drawn three times with Dundee Utd. They drew 2-2 in Inverness despite being down to ten men for almost the entire second half. There's confidence then there's delusion! Murder them indeed.
