 Robinson(new)

I thought it would be nice to Post a positive thread about Robinson
There are plenty of alleged Pars supporters who get great pleasure from anything he does wrong.
In particular par1981 who for some reason seems to only post negative comments.
I appreciate that Murdoch may be a member of his family or close friend but it's become embarrassing the amount of negative posts he makes.
Personally I think Robinson his head and shoulders above not only Murdoch but any other championship keeper. It that's just my opinion.
The saves he's made since joining the club have exceeded most keepers in Scotland.
I agree there's probably 3 times he's let himself down but the saves and stopped opportunities he's prevented should be mentioned.
There's a YouTube link to last season's saves as a quick reminder to his contribution since he arrived.

Don't really see why you have to use what you intend to be a positive thread on having a dig at another poster.

No real need.

Robison is certainly not head and shoulders above most other keepers.

DAFC 90

I or any part of a Murdoch ‘family’. I praised Robinson last night on what was a great save that effectively got us an extra 2 points. I talk freely on other players and matters. You have since published 6 posts with all regarding Robinson. It’s a forum we are allowed opinions. Robinson overall has done well but he’s just not my type of keeper. I would suggest the showman phrase to be his headline. Just not for me. Is this ok for you or are you going to get defensive again.

I think saying head and shoulders above any goalkeeper then posting a link to his saves is a little far. He is certainly not the best keeper in the league. I am a big fan of Scully when he was here. I would say he is the best keeper in the league although the result would suggest otherwise.

I'd expect Murdoch to takeover when fully fit.

Is Murdoch still getting paid by DUFC? I know at my work that after 6 months off we go to 1/2 pay then at a year no pay, but that’s with 10 years service.

I think the club will be, BUT, If there's nothing in the contract then the club don't have to pay injuries. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45671685
Seems another step towards football falling in line with the rest of the world.
At my work we get 4 weeks full pay, 4 weeks half then nothing.

In my opinion, if a player has been injured during club duties then their wages should be covered in full for the duration of their recovery. Only if they get injured outside of club duties should they be put on a reduced wage.
Do football clubs not have insurance on players to help cover wages during injury spells?

Once played pool with Norrie McCathie in the players lounge.

Aye, pretty sure football clubs have insurance to cover these types of injury.

It's common knowledge that Lionel Messi kept a photo of Hamish French by his bedside as inspiration every morning!

As the BBC article linked to above highlights, many clubs in Scotland don't. However, I'm sure Murdoch mentioned on social media that we do have player insurance - it was around the time another Championship player got injured and his club didn't offer insurance/healthcare.

I said when Scully left PT we should have signed him instead of keeping Robinson but was shot down in Flames!

Robinson has been a good signing.

Find me a keeper that hasn't made a goof from time to time.

You're correct as all keepers make mistakes but Robinson makes more than most !

Lee has done a great job at E.E.P since he came in , not made anymore mistakes than anyone else in the team .

I don't buy that.

It would be interesting to see his goals conceded record based on games played.

Can someone list these blunders. I can recall two. Last week and Morton away last season.

Scully’s ridiculously overrated by some of our fans. Very limited keeper, who isn’t comfortable catching the ball or coming off his line. Robinson is a much better keeper.

He has been a very good keeper for us, ok there have been two howlers as listed above at Cappilow but other than that nothing major

He has gained us many many points more than he has cost us

All keepers (and outfield players for that matter) make the occasional mistake which shiuld be forgiven

Give the man a break

To be fair to him, I think he had amongst the best goalkeeping stats in the division last season.

He's a decent enough keeper, and as good as we're likely to get for a while.

Some of his distribution lets him down at times though.

In all seriousness Lee is an excellent keeper. We know he's prone to a blunder or two, but he is definitely a far superior keeper to Scully.

I do hope Sean gets fit soon tho to compete with Lee - gives us a great problem to have.
