That's not a real surprise. I think he has the potential to carve out a fine career in management. He's either got a league job lined up ( Dumbarton? ) or he has fallen out with Kelty or perhaps there is a personal reason for it?
I'd plump for the Dumbarton gig.

Reliable source says he’s going to Airdrie. Pity he would have been worth taking a chance on at EEP if the current situation prevails.

Are you for real?

There shouldn’t be a single Pars fan happy at Tam Courts as our next manager. I know him and he’s a great lad but nowhere near qualified to manage a full time club of our stature.

It’s posts like this that make you nearly give up this Forum.

Good Luck to him, even although it is Airdrie! Possibility of him being a future Pars manager he has all the attributes to become a good manager and he is working his way trough the ranks nicely, but if he does well there will be competition for his signature.

Qualified? What does that mean? Was Alex Ferguson “Quailfied” when he took over at East Stirling? This country needs new blood in football management away from Mcliesh, McCoist etc and the the usual suspects merry go round.
Oh aye! And “A club of our stature” will be a thing of the past if the current regime is allowed to continue. BTW ur choice ...feel free to ‘nearly leave’ this forum.

Has he managed a club at or near our level, has he managed full time professional players, has he recruited players and have a knowledge of players at our wage bracket?? Has he undertook his pro licence (he’s not) Can he command the respect of full time players coming from effectively Junior football...as I said I know him well enough and he wouldn’t dream of being considered. Success at Stirling Albion, Berwick or Airdrie would be a good start of changing that opinion.

Alex Ferguson had played full time professional football for 14 years winning trophies and understood clearly the way clubs operated.

McCoist has managed The Rangers and no none else, clearly not a merry go round.....

Looks like Kelty with their lofty ambitions had been tapping up Barry Ferguson on the sly, Courts has gotten wind of it and chucked it.

Don't want him anywhere near my club, I also know if and find him an arrogant tw@t!

P.S Nowhere near enough experience either at our level so a ridiculous suggestion anyway

have to say Courts wasnt someone I respected. The way he spoke to officials/opponets and even his own players was pretty disgusting. Some of his shouts at his players playing against our 20s a couple years back were along the lines of "Do Him and make sure he knows about it"

Appointing Barry Ferguson as manager of Kelty Hearts would strike me as a very strange decision. Didn't he admit that the most difficult aspect of managing Clyde was having to deal with players of a much lower standard than he was used to, who could not match his expectations?

Erm, yes - how is questioning whether Alex Ferguson had any experience when he took over at East Stirling an own goal?

Ok I'm struggling to believe I have to explain this, especially as I have always considered you to be one of the more intelligent raspers on here.

The original post from Mr 6 posts who suggests folk should leave, stated that Courts would have been a good candidate for the Dunfermline job.

It was then suggested that he was underqualified, not ready for a club at our level.

He countered with, "Alex Ferguson had no experience when he took over at East Stirling."

Now I think most folk woul agree that East Stirling are of considerable less stature than DAFC.
They are or were precisely the sort of club an untried manager might get his first appointment with.
It does not support the original suggestion that an untried manager at senior level should start with a team like DAFC...it effectively counters that argument. Ergo - own goal.

BTW dont take it personally Parnear. We are mostly raspers on here. All part of the fun.
Looking forward to 6 posts becoming 600.

Ferguson had no experience before taking over at East Stirling, Courts has been Kelty manager for how many years? In that time winning the East Juniors and then the East of Scotland League. He was also Scotland manager at Junior level. I'm not saying he should be anywhere near our job but he's clearly got experience and would be in contention for a job at Championship or League One level.

"contention for a job at Championship or League One level."
Just curious and not a dig at all its just I do not know the answer but how many managers have made the step from Junior straight to Championship or League 1 level in the last 10-15 years or so?
More specifically ones that have not got a record at senior level and dropped down before going back up?

Bert Paton had managed Cowdenbeath and Raith Rovers previously and had roles at St Johnstone and Hearts before managing us and we were bottom of the old Second Division when Leishman took over.
