Why is he so stubborn? After we lost the second - Get Muirhead on upfront. Hook a defender. At least have a go at trying to win the game.

It was Morton in the cup all over again..........No sense of urgency. I genuinely believe he's becomes the rabbit in the car headlights when put under pressure.

Getting really bored with his management style.

Couldn’t agree more. Getting tired of his hopeless management. When Alloa got their second why not go for it and put a striker on. Change the formation?

I have to agree Angus
at 2-2 you need to go for it !
good grief we are at home show some Ball* and go for it
while I'm on my rant I cannot understand when we put corners In or crosses into the box we do not have one player who thinks ahead and makes a run at the back everyone is always around the penalty spot and it goes right over their heads
after a decent performance last week we go to zero today
I cannot think of anyone who would deserve man of the match yes Longridge scored 2 goals but gave them the first with slack play and Devine for the second goal why not just clear your lines , Missed Durnam today as lately he has been our best defender

Biggest thing for me another game lost at EEP
not the fortress it should be

Every 3 or 4 games we get a decent ( and even that's debatable) performance and all is forgiven .
There has to come a time when enough so enough .
We have become so predictable , almost every team in the league has us sussed .
Embarrassing stuff this season .

Same old half decent, mid table , out of cups performances. Can somebody make this squad perform better ? I think they can, not sure who though , I can’t see any changes any time soon though so need to support the team and manager best we can as slagging the management off will not make the players perform any better.

Six home games and won one ain’t good reading and up next are Qos and United. The board surely can’t tolerate much more if we loose them both.

It’s now the middle of October and he should know his best team and how he wants to play by now.
The clock is certainly ticking and we need to see better performances on a more consistent basis between now and the end of 2018.
If we don’t, then I’ll be calling for change

Don't know what is best for the club, but for what it's worth, I can't see AJ getting any more mileage from this team.

We need a motivational manager, with a deputy who can advise areas for improvement. On top of that we need an inspirational captain on the field.
We have neither imo.

It is also noticeable I feel, that with both Higgy and Williamson out of the team, we have been decidedly poor.

Lewis Longridge has been ok. Really don’t buy the hype over Jackson. Grossly overrated imo.
FEB has been extremely disappointing.
Durnan and Devine ???? Useless.
Vincent ? Headless chicken
Martin ? Decent
Connolly? Has done ok.
Muirhead and Hippo? Pro fitba players that couldn’t trap a bag of cement. Shambles.
Beadling? October and can’t break in to an absolutely woeful fitba team due to injuries and a useless manager.

Hard to argue with any of that.

No disrespect to Alloa but we should be capable of brraking down teams suchbas Alloa at home .And expect a home win.

"We have some very good players, but a very poor team imo. This can’t go on without it hurting the club"

That statement is probably true and if so, the Board, need to ask some questions of why.
Almost inevitably in football, the buck stops with the manager.

There's a kind of parallel in corporations which are struggling financially, the top brass are usually at fault, not the workforce.

"Change our central midfield, change some of not all our back three"

We play a back 4. We have done in the last 6 games. We've not lost any of them. With Ashcroft partnering Durnan, it was 1 goal conceded in 5 games - which the keeper let through his hands.

You want to drop Martin and Vincent? Martin is head and shoulders above anyone else when it comes to passing the ball. Vincent beside him ensured that we utterly dominated Falkirk last week. When they did change the central midfield half-way through the 2nd half on Saturday, that's when we lost control of the game.

Aside from that, bang on...

TBH even with a difficult summer losing players like Morris, Aird and Clarke that AJ wanted to keep, I was kind of hoping that we'd be aiming to better our last season and improve as AJ has managed year on year since he took over.

If the aim was really to emulate last season and finish 4th or the playoffs then I don't see how "most" (is it really most? I'm not sure it is) people think it's unrealistic to make that target as we're 5th and only 3 points off 4th with a game in hand although goal difference is currently against us. There are 84 points still to play for and we've only lost games (badly admittedly) against the top 3 in the league. A top 4 finish is well within reach.

It was one of the worst leagues for a while but that's because we've been in the unusual position of having clubs of the stature of Rangers, Hearts, Hibs and to an extent Dundee United (although they've obviously been down here a couple of times) in the league so in those years the standard has been far higher than average for this league. To say it was the worst league in years doesn't really tell the whole story it's not like we should all of a sudden have been romping it.

We're currently in a league with two teams that have just come down from the SP that will be benefiting from parachute payments and Dundee United who have always had a bigger budget than us as they're a bigger club than us. Livingston were more of a one off than the norm so fair play to them but more teams fail to do that than succeed.

We were also pretty unlucky in the playoffs last year. The sending off was horrendous and we missed a sitter up in Dundee. Who knows what might have happened.

This season we're behind where most of is want to be but it's hardly end of the world stuff just now.

After your error strewn car crash of a post earlier, I felt that I should clarify that you were referring to the correct two matches.

Your tone above is really quite embarrassing for a grown adult.

Nevertheless, given that QoS have won 2 games from 8, I would expect that we would not lose to them. Re Dundee Utd, it would be rather daft to predict the result given they were inconsistent before but now have a new manager with an excellent record in this league. If he can get them playing to their potential, they should challenge Ross County for top spot this season.

Stevie, you seem to be up and down like the proverbial pair of knickers. After drawing with Morton you couldn't see us beating Thistle. but after we beat them you were confident we would win at Falkirk and start climbing the table. You fancied our chances on Saturday but after a draw you want wholesale changes. Have some patience.

One thing needs to be said in all this.

Our goal for this season was promotion. Even AJ said as much back near the start of the campaign.

It was not to emulate last season.

I fear if things don't improve by Christmas, it will be too late to recover, but hey ho, Santa will be coming.

FWIW, I think we will beat QOS, if and only if Dobbie is kept quiet, but DU will beat us this time.

Three point from those two games would be encouraging.

Thankfully some of us are free thinkers and don't need to gravitate towards anyone else's camp.

If you want something specific, I'd say that it's the front two positions that should be most up for grabs - hopefully Muirhead begins to show some form and Keena is as big a goal threat as Hearts fans seem to think.

I think the rest of the team looks better now, albeit I think Beadling is ultimately better than Vincent but I wouldn't make that change now. With Higgy's fit again, I think he should be pushing for a place on the bench and is an option should Longridge or Connelly need replaced.

With my freethinking hat on, I really think we are a worse unit than we were at the end of last season.

The players we lost or let go, and I'm not blaming anyone for it, to my mind were able to do more than their replacements.

I am Faissal fan, but he's just not clicking right now.
Some of the others blow hot and cold, but have no consistency, anymore so than those from last season.

They have had long enough to gel and get match fitness and to adapt to any changes the manager wants them to adopt.

I'll be patient, as if I have any choice being a Pars fan, but my enthusiasm for attending is waning.
I have my season ticket, but I also have one for the Primrose and tbh, the entertainment value is just as good at the Humbug.

It's undeniable that we are currently worse that we were at the end of last season.

It's been far worse than this in the very recent past though and will be worse again at some point in the future. The Pars are in my blood though, it's not in me to chuck it when they're not playing at the highest standard I've ever seen. If it was, I'd have stopped going the season after Calderwood left and wouldn't have returned.

"When you change the playing staff with arguably 'better players". Some are, some are not.

"have the same discussions on here that we had in each of AJ's previous seasons". That would be due to lack of imagination from the average posters on here. AJ can't control that.

"Thanks for your efforts AJ but please admit when you are not up to the task." When our finishing position is always higher than the previous season's, it would strike me as progression rather than regression. That mightn't happen this season, but I think the man deserves a good bit more time that 8 games - especially when we are actually quite close to 3rd position, which would represent progression.

When you change the playing staff with arguably 'better players', get the same old same old situation on the pitch week in week out and have the same discussions on here that we had in each of AJ's previous seasons then it aint rocket science who is fecking things up for the mighty Pars imo.

Thanks for your efforts AJ but please admit when you are not up to the task and move aside for somebody who is.

Nobody is fecking things up though.

8 points off the top spot. AJ has made an erse of it so far. Plenty of time to turn it around of course , if he’s capable.

He's capable. How do I know that? I'll let you guess.....☺

There seems to be a growing band of the Pars faithful losing patience with AJ.

For those calling "AJ out", who do you see as realistic targets to replace him?

Stevie Crawford? Darren Young?

I don't think there's really a growing band. Mostly the same people on here, spouting the same opinion after every game we fail to win.

Probably the same on any fans forum where the manager has been in place for over 6 months.

I don't think there's serious discontent among the fans during or after the games.

I certainly don't see serious discontent.

You'll always have some folk absolutely raging and wanting the manager sacked. I don't think there's a massive movement in the stands wanting rid of the manager.

There may be discontent on the Forum but I am genuinely unaware of it at a Home match.

Yes there can be booing after a match but that isn't quite the same thing.

We’ll have to lose a few more before we see serious discontent. Although I do think some fans are far better at spotting signs than others.

That's kinda the point I'm making. For all the calls for AJ to be punted, nobody seems to have any decent suggestions for a replacement.

That's because more and more of them are elsewhere on a Saturday.

We've not had a home league game on a Saturday for a month. I guess we'll see over the next couple of weeks.

Cool, so we will be counting ar$e cheeks and dividing by a 2 then? Because if you come back and say the "attendance" is 5000+ ish then i'm not buying it.

i'm not trying to start an argument Da-go incidentally but I can only take the demographic I know personally. My group of supporters that I go with (including me) goes from 9 years of age to 73. There are 5 of us, all family in some way. The 73 and 50 year old have 118 years of going to the pars home and away almost without a break. You can imagine the turgid stuff they have seen over the years. Add to that my 38 years i'm not sure whether Parrot would describe us as "Real" fans. I have family reasons for not being at every game but I do buy my season ticket every year and contribute in other ways. The 73 and 50 year old are also season ticket holders and I have never known them to not go to games without good reason....until now.

Quite an opening gambit for someone not looking for an argument!

I'm aware that the attendance won't reflect the amount of people there. I just don't understand why anyone who went during the season where we finished 7th in the 3rd tier (only 4 seasons ago), would decide that what their watching now is more offensive to them.

I really just think that some fans need a change of manager every 2-3 seasons to keep them motivated (unless of course you're someone like Dundalk and are having unparalleled success).

I wouldn't want a change of manager, but we've certainly had some player turnover in the last few seasons.

Things do seem a bit stale just now and AJ neither lifts me, nor gives me confidence. Certainly, the football doesn't exactly get the pulses racing.

If we had a change of manager it might be interesting and if we don't, then we're no worse off at present.

He's been more successful than Hartley at Falkirk, or McCann at Dundee, I suppose, but that is not really saying much.

You could have added Laszlo/McKinnon at United, Duffy at Morton, Houston at Falkirk, etc, etc. Changing manager is sometimes a bigger risk than keeping one.

I don't agree that AJ doesn't try to play exciting football though. Even against teams from a higher league he sets out the team to win.

He might try, but don't think he's very successful at it.

I am a bit disappointed with the quality of our game, but we've been down this road so often.

I'm not that motivated by the team at present, so we differ on the fare being offered.

I hope they pick things up for QOS game on Saturday.

I think the time to reflect on these things is the end of the season. You have to give the mamager the opportunity. He hss improved our position each season. Not easy in the climate of short term contracts and club funds. I for one will get behind him and the players until the end of the season.
