Great to see Lewis Martin and Higgy back in action. Hope they have a trouble free return from surgery.

"7/2 for pars on bet365"

Thanks for the heads up. Took Pars to win or draw @ 2/1.

Cashed out my stake after 10 minutes and have half the bet running as a free role.

I love it when we don't sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna score in every game 'til Christmas,
And every touch is goal la la la, it's goal la la la,

Pars were 5/1 earlier today so plenty money for us pre-match obviously, not that I would place a bet on a reserve game. Motherwell will score a few more I reckon.

Martin and a Higgy subbed at half time. They may both have a few outings in the reserves before figuring in the first team squad I think.
I notice from the Twitter reports on Cows that Muirhead is taking the corners , seems a bit of a waste of his height as he wont be getting on the end of them!

Can’t say any of the senior players impressed at all. Higgy was getting involved but didn’t really create much. Beadling culpable for Motherwell’s 4th goal and Muirhead caught for pace when tracking back for Motherwell’s first or second (can’t remember).

Main plus side it was free entry so nothing lost from the venture except 90 minutes haha.

How was Higgy playing? I thought he was having a hernia op a month ago?

Got 45 minutes today. Just building it back up, like Lewis Martin who also got 45 minutes.

That's amazing from Higgy if he's had that op. I suppose if you're young and fit, recovery time is much reduced.

Had hoped our strong, on paper, squad would have done a bit better.

Sounds like they were all a bit rusty.

I thought Callum Smith was on loan to Arbroath, not that they are giving him much game time, but can we recall him for the reserves if we want?

Any player loaned out by an SPFL club is eligible to return and play in non-first team football for the lending club.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

On the issue of loaning him out, just like at Alloa, it doesn't seem to be doing the lad much good.

Not really a fan of the loan system anyway. It rarely seems to help the individuals or the club's very much as I can see.

Maybe because he’s not good enough....

Motherwell reserves are pretty decent tbf. Their colts have done well in the Irn Bru Cup (sadly) and Craigan seems to be quite well regarded. In fact some 'Well fans seem to like their youth team better than their first team at the moment.

For our level yes, it would seem Jim Goodwins and Dick Campbell’s as well after having him train and play for them....
