 How To Stop Stephen Dobbie?
Topic Originator: Sliema Par

He already has 24 goals and has a goal to game ratio ahead of Lionel Messi,Kylian Mbappe,Cristiano Ronaldo,Eden Hazrd etc.

What should we do?

A) Hope there are roadworks outside Lytham and he is caught in a traffic snarl up.

B) Pray he has a 24 hour streaming head cold.

C) Phone East Fife for advice.

D)Lock him in the East End dressing room.

E) Put James Craigen on him after he nullified Steven Naismith.

Some of us are still traumatised from last December when he gave us a masterclass!!

More times than not when we've played QoS with Dobbie in their team we have done OK.

He did absolutely nothing against East Fife on Saturday.
Defenders pushed him out into areas he clearly didn't want to be and the midfielders worked to cut out his supply.
I suggest someone phone Darren Young and ask him for copies of his gameplan.

Just hope that Europe's current top scorer, either has a poor game, or we can limit his involvement as above, or as wee eck says, we do OK, as we mostly have done?
My memory only goes back to the last game sadly.

That one game last December is the only one we've really failed to cope with him, and I'd say we failed to cope with Kane more, who I thought caused us more problems that day. Altho, defensively at that point in the season we were all over the place and scoring against us wasnt that difficult.

At the moment, I'm more worried by teams with a lot of pace up front, which is what our central defense doesn't have.

I actually thought Kane was the stand-out in December too. If I remember correctly, Dobbie's first goal (their 3rd) was from a horrific mistake from us defensively. His other 2 were when we were chasing the game - one was maybe even a penalty.

In addition, Andy Stirling looked like the player we thought we had signed prior to him going missing during his time with us.

The other contributing factor was AJ thinking that a central midfield duo of Lewis Martin and Nat Wedderburn was a good idea - ably assisted on the right by the dymanic Michael Paton. I think it was probably his biggest car crash of a line-up in his 3+ years at the club.

I love it when we don't sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna score in every game 'til Christmas,
And every touch is goal la la la, it's goal la la la,

Another two comes to mind ,Every time we were up against mark kerr and willo flood the room they had in the centre of midfield was unbelievable.i used to think would someone just keep hitting them hard and fair ,but we seemed be yards away from them when they were on the ball.
