We've missed out on Jim Duffy, he starts at Dumbarton next week!

Of all the managers that were available as a replacement the board has shown too much faith in AJ and now lost out on the better free agents!

AJ will still be in charge next week. The two year deal is a terrible one that is going to make it difficult for us to part with AJ anytime soon. Think we’re stuck with him for now. He has to ring the changes next week.

Darren Young is a decent shout. If AJ is punted, his replacement needs to be a real statement of intent.

I'd love to see Billy Reid get the job, but he's maybe out of our price range.

You are of course at liberty to let them know....so do something about it instead of mouthing off on here....or are you waiting for someone else to start your protest?
It worked the last time...a few hardy fans, a Rastafarian,a mentally ill bam(And before anyone plays the mock outrage I have fair experience with the aforementioned), a Lithuanian lass with no interest in football and a Celtic fan made a fair dent...
Or you could keep wringing your hands and typing.
My guess is you are...like everyone else...disappointed at results...but you don't feel that strongly about it.
A poll on a forum...pfft.

I Hope You're Ok Today....

I find this situation heart breaking, as someone who finds Allan one of the most likeable and approachable Managers I have known in over fifty years.

I had never known the crowd turn on Allan and Sandy in 3 years 5 months as they did at FT today.

The fact is one year ago we had 17 points and now 11.

We had scored 22 goals and today 9.

Jim Duffy has not yet signed on the dotted line at Dumbarton, and I wonder if the Board should move quickly, while making Allan our Director of Football.Financially that would make sense.

Our League average Gate began with 5312 and is now 4443 so down more than 16%.No Club could survive such a haemorrhage.

As for those who regard our present squad as superior, that has been answered.Joe Cardle and some others should never have been allowed to leave.

another .net wow moment there!

"Joe Cardle and some others should never have been allowed to leave"

yes they should have, funny how that line has only re-appeared when we have lost a couple of games.

its time for change in the dugout but will the board do it, I doubt it.

Which players that we have brought in are better than Joe Cardle? With Cardle he was not always brilliant but he tried 100% plus he had flair. If he was still with us he would have set goals for Fais. Fais now tries to do the donkey work himself, I hope that someone that has brought in could help him to do what he was good at - scoring.

We replaced talisman Joe Cardle with an ineffective player from York City, the sixth tier of English football. And they released him!

Aiden cannot beat a full back or get to the bye line or hit an accurate cross or take a decent corner or free kick.

He is not the only disappointment.

Hippo and Joe Thomson and Danny Devine are not the calibre to be at East End.

Yesterday all the chickens came home to roost. It was pathetic.

Yet a minority seem to think we should have allowed Joe to leave.Mindblowing!!

Cardle produced more exciting football in one game sometimes than half of our recent purchases/additions combined.

I have to say I wasn't always keen on him cutting into the centre of the field so often, but two former players have told me that was precisely what AJ wanted him to do.

But, it's not just Cardle we miss.

Again I was never a huge Andy Geggan fan half of the time, but who do we have now making those runs from midfield into the box and scoring a few in the process.

Another mis for me is wee Josh. His passion made up for some shortcomings, no pun intended and he looked like be wanted to win all the time.

There is also Moffat, not always the best, but just look at How Faissal played with him, compared to now without him. Again we miss his vision and linkup play.

Oh enough moaning from me. It fixes nothing, so I'll just toddle off for some rolls for the Sunday brunch/delayed breakfast.

If it was to happen an AJ and SC were to be replaced i would like to see Brewster and Stevie Crawford given a go .
Both have had good times at the club and are respected in the game .And completly know the club and what it means to the fans .
Or .we go for a more experienced manager which would be hard with our budget to afford .

Al, I think you are subconsciously transferring Brew and Craw's magical playing partnership into football management. ☺ Not saying it wouldn't work but it would be a real gamble, although likely to be popular with our fans.

Brew's previous stints in management have been disappointing and Craw is virtually untried.

Maybe we need to just exercise a bit of patience for now. Let's see where we are at Christmas. If we're no longer in contention for a top 4 place, a decision will probably be made, otherwise it's steady as you go, I reckon.....☺

GG has a point here... I want Kenny Dalglish and Joe Jordan to be the management team for the national side, but I know that's just a pipe dream based on my emotional memories of them as players...

I personally don't think we need an immediate panic change, but if we did I don't think Brew would be at the front of my thoughts...

Personally , I think the time for patience has come and gone .
Some of us have seen this coming and spoken abt it months ago .
Think we need to act now . The football we are being asked to watch is awful and AJ seems unable to alter anything .

You just seem to be convinced that changing the manager will automatically change our fortunes for the better when there's absolutely no way of knowing that.

Fair enough. You think things are so bad, we need to gamble now. I don't think we've reached that stage. I might change my mind come the end of the year though.

Darren Young would appear to be the most realistic candidate for me, should a replacement be needed.

Asking JJ to step aside was 100% the correct decision, easy to say in hindsight but outright just giving the job to Potter was a mistake, he shouldn't have been given the job if we'd done that process properly.

GG mate .not that nieve to have that type of scenario.
I was thinking out loud that if that is the level of management we can affort or having somwone like Duffy , I would like to see two ex pars men in there .But thats just my view .
I always like a manager who has had some connection with the club.Leish,Paton as a couple of examples .

I'd prefer someone with previous connections to the Club too. Not many available of a good enough calibre for me though. Darren Young would appear to be popular amongst some Pars fans, and is developing a good reputation in the game.

Losing Cardle is something I'll never forgive AJ for. The boy loves the club as indicated by Craig's recent video on Facebook. I don't care if he's not 100% every week, no winger on earth is and not one of out our players bar Higgy is close to how effective he was at completely changing a game.

Was that not about the board and the club potentially dying Rasta? I appreciate everyone's efforts in that endeavour, saved the club

More about taking action if they feel so strongly about things...like what happened then...but I suspect they don't...just acting the internet moothpiece.

Based on the actual finishing league positions as a club AJ has improved us year on year. That's what the board will be looking at.

Every club has a sticky patch every season. Maybe ours is earlier this year and will do what Inverness done last year who went unbeaten in something like 12 or 13 before the end of the season.

Yesterday was baffling, there was no comments after the Falkirk game like this though. Football is a sport that can change the position week by week. A win next week and we are back in the mix again!

No rash decision needed. Yet.

C'mon Ye Pars!

We need a new Manager with passion for the club, ex players like Owen Coyle, Darren Young, Stewart Petrie, Ian McCall, Mark Burchill, Jimmy Nichol and a good few others. Surely one of them would be a good choice.

No, we just need a manager who is able to maximise his squad by getting the best out of each individual player, by identifying their best positions in a formation which they are comfortable in. Not as easy as some may think.

Passion alone doesn't cut it. Valery Lobanowsky was a great coach. Never showed a hint of passion.

That's us played everyone.

Aside from Ross County I haven't been particularly impressed by any other team to the point of thinking the opposition were especially good rather than us being extremely disappointing or poor.

That's what makes it even more frustrating. Likewise i've only really felt we looked comfortable against Falkirk and Morton which would have been two routine victories bar one madcap moment from Robinson.

Still think it's maybe a bit too early to jump the gun on this one. Massive turn over of players and the whole 3-5-2 experiment ended in disaster so moving on from that i think he's still due a bit more time.

That being said a couple of more bad results and it will be hard to make a case in his defense. Saturday was the first time i've been aware of folk i know who are otherwise quite patient and reserved when it comes to this sort of thing starting to get a little uneasy and voice their displeasure.

On the subject of formation and saying 3-5-2 has failed, should decent players with decent management, not be able to change tactics, between games and if necessary, during games.

Things can be practised in training, so that having to change becomes easier to do when required.

Not saying it's easy to do, but sometimes a bit of work and awareness, can help in difficult times.

yes, that's true to a point, but you need the players to be able to play it.

3-5-2 is a good enough formation but when you have three centre backs, not entirely blessed with pace and not the most comfortable on the ball ( perhaps Durnan aside ), then you will be exploited.

In summary, don't ask players to do something they are not comfortable with.
