 MOM from Saturday

Interested to read what folks thought. I know not too many will have got pass marks but thought Vincent was our best player.
Won more than his fair share of 50/50s and kept it simple when he had it.

He's a defensive midfielder, therefore I don't expect him to beat three men and smash it in from 30 yards and neither do I expect him to be threading cute passes through for our strikers to run onto.

He does a holding job pretty effectively at this level.

I think he has played pretty well for us in the last few games but there are times that he finds himself on the edge of the box and looks almost too nervous to shoot? Just don't understand it.

I agree with Vincent being MOM, indeed e everytime that I've seen him play I've quite impressed. I just wish that when has the ball and sees an opening that he would shoot. If I was a coach I would like to get him practising that art. Indeed I would also get Martin to practise taking corners.

As I’ve mentioned on other threads, it’s up to the manager to find the right balance.
That balance can change depending on who we play. For example, in an away game at Dingwall, I’d play two holding midfielders
He got it wrong on Saturday. In my opinion, he only needed Vincent and could have played a more offensive player in Martin’s place

I would agree Vincent for me although some on here thinks he runs around like a headless chicken but I think he does his job in midfield breaking up the opposition possession in midfield and giving it to more attacking minded players ?. Think he has been one of our more consistent players this season a bit like Gary Mason who i think was also not quite appreciated for the job he did for us.

Good call in comparing him to Gary Mason although Gary was a better player.

I think that we got Gary from Manchester City. That was before they became a billionaire club.

" I would prefer Thomson or Beadling alongside Malaury as they will support the attacks and add some energy to the middle of the park"

or Craigen but its with Vincent for me.

Probably go with Vincent. Thought Jackson Longridge had a good game. Dobbie was quiet as ever so Ashcroft did well
