Probably Beadling since it was his first 90 minutes for a while and he played a few nice passes. Didn't look 100% fit though and looked like he was sitting far far too deep.

Beadling got more involved in the 2nd half.

When walking down Halbeath Road just before the end of the game heard a couple of scouts mention that we weren't at the races, 4 out of 10 for most players was what was mentioned. Pretty accurate in my opinion.

hippo spent to much time trying to get free kicks, and Ryan missed the easiest chance of the game , real strikers score theser chances.

Ryan was the only forward player to make a chance for himself and the keeper made a brilliant save all be it he should have taken his chance. Hippo tried to win free kicks is for 90 minutes which was more effort than the other 10 combined. I’m not for a second saying any of them played well they are the best of a bad bunch.

If hippo stopped trying to find the easiest way to go to ground to con the ref he might prove useful.

Until then he’s a chocolate teapot.

It's difficult to nominate anyone but it certainly wasn't Jackson Longridge. He passed the ball across our penalty box to a United player who set up the second goal.

I do not deny that error and thought someone would pick up on it.

He was superb for the remainder of the game and repeatedly made up for the inadequacies of players around him.

Lee Ashcroft and Tom Beadling also did well.

When the latter is fully fit ,things could be very different.

Though if we do not score a goal, the pressure on the rest of the team becomes immense ,as the QOS and Alloa matches showed up.

Letting Joe Cardle go was an unbelievable mistake.....

Back in July and August scores of fans attacked me for my opinion.

They have fallen silent now.

My two Bridlington friends(one is a steward at York City) phoned in their incredulity at his replacement.

A young man who cannot beat a full back, get to the bye line, put in an accurate cross ,or take a decent corner or free kick.

But hey what do I know?

I don't understand the enthusiasm being expressed by some for Beadling.

He never actually made a start for Sunderland, before being loaned to Bury, going back to their under 21s, again no starts, then joining us.

Maybe he can provide the midfield drive and leadership we very much need. Certainly hope he does well as we need a boost more than ever.

Me neither, to me he was pretty anonymous most games last season, but such was his standing on here I thought I must have been missing it. Then yesterday it was genuinely 35 minutes in that I remembered he was playing. Contributed very very little yesterday.

That's absolute rubbish, I'm sorry but Beadling absolutely carried us through the end of last season along with Aird. The hindsight is incredible, Cardle wasn't great last season but the way he was let go was wrong. I get we're all frustrated and are looking for things to blame but don't let that distort the facts. Imo we have some good players here but they are being used in such a poor manner it's embarrassing. I would still have this squad over the one Ayr has, the difference is they know their strengths and weaknesses. AJ has absolutely no idea what he is doing with the squad we have just now.

Beadling for me. People saying he's had plenty of time to get his fitness in reserve games are unrealistic. Anyone who's been involved at a half-decent level knows there is a massive difference in every aspect of a game between reserves and first team. Would have been more effective if not played alongside Vincent who seems to have ball shaped holes in his boots.
Hippolyte isn't for everyone but he is unpredictable and had a few half chances that he created for himself. At least he's direct.
As for the rest, Devine did okay, full backs were both poor, Craigen and Longridge nigh on invisible and (said it from the start) Ashcroft is not a captain. Not sure Robbo could've done much with either goal. FEB was poor again, just doesn't seem suited to this league at all. Ryan came on and was offside a good few times (which is very frustrating) but did make one simple run that I was taught as soon as I played 11-a-side and got himself in a 1 on 1 with them keeper. FEB and Hippolyte were not capable of this.

Overall, we were lacking any sort of width. Our best hope is a punt up the pitch which is very worrying. Think AJ got his team selection all wrong today. Craigen is not a winger, wither is L Longridge.

Yes we do have the basis for a good squad.

We have Lee Robinson.(Murdoch).

A Back Four of Craigen,Ashcroft,Durnan,J Longridge.(L Martin)

A Midfield of Beadling,M Martin,L Longridge,Vincent.(Williamson).

Striker Ryan.(FEB).Higgy.

The problem is we have some others who, from the outset, were never the calibre required.Incredibly, some have a two year deal.

Hint. They are missing from my imaginary squad.

What's happened to Muirhead, SP? I thought he was one of your favourites? I'd like to see what Kenna has to offer too.

What's glaringly missing from that squad is width.

I was delighted when we surprisingly signed Robbie.

That was on the basis of seeing him playing for Kilmarnock,Dundee Utd and Hearts on "Sportscene".

Clearly, something is wrong that he is not coming on as a Sub.

Muirhead has a stinking attitude and that’s why he’s not getting on.

Another aj signing where zero research is done. Another in a long line of expensive mistakes in the market. Not his first but hopefully his last here.

AJ must know what he was getting with Muirhead, he had him at Killie.

Was his transfer not the reason AJ resigned?

Beadling was essential at the end of last season. A million times better than Vincent, who is one of the worst players in the history of football. He runs around a lot, but when it comes to possession he's just awful

It's common knowledge that Lionel Messi kept a photo of Hamish French by his bedside as inspiration every morning!

Not really JTH, he was younger and breaking through at killie, a few years earning great money down south and he’s come back as billy Big baws and has become lazy.

Why else has he played 60 mins while half fit and never been seen since.

If he had the same attitude and applied himself like he did at killie he’d be starting every week already. Been a few comments on here about the effort and attitude seen in reserve games.

Beadling,Vincent and Craigen transformed our season from January on.

Now we have Malaury Martin too whose technical ability and anticipation and vision have enhanced the team considerably.

Guessing the problem is aj was planning on playing a 352 with Williamson and j longridge as the width.

Had to abandon this as he signed poor and more importantly slow central defenders and we were getting ripped apart.

Vincent is gash, we need to press the opposition and he’s always 10 yards away from them marking the space. Beadling and Thomson for in there for away games.

Problem is on the wings, just can’t see who in that squad would make an impact? Certainly no pace in there.

If you looked at how DU were set up every time they played out from their own penalty area.
They had a man hugging each touchline and almost on or just over halfway.

That immediately stretched out our midfield allowing runners to get down the channels and into danger areas in just a couple of passes.

They also have two natural wingers playing in Aird and McMullan who could also come inside as necessary.

So frustrating that with AJ himself a winger, we lose our two natural wingers, Aird and Cardle in the same close season.

Never mind the quality feel the lack of width!

People criticising Vincent need to realise that he does a job as a defensive midfielder. He covers ground hunting people down and winning the ball and linking play.
I'm as frustrated as anyone to see him pass it sideways when it looks like we should be driving forward but lets not forget how he's provided the mobility that Wedderburn lacked.

I’m yet to see evidence of this.
