A clever finish from Higgy but some shocking defending from Morton.

Some well taken goals, but what a miserable looking bunch 'celebrating'.

Muirhead looked pretty sharp for his goal

The mowhawk (also referred to as a mohican) is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the centre.

They looked like they had found a penny but lost a pound. Not a lot of enthusiasm and exuberance on display there. Is that because few of them perceive they have any chance of getting a shout for the first team?

Who knows, but I've rarely seen such low key responses after goals, even watching juniors and youth matches.

Maybe they're just super cool. It was a good result anyway.

I can't say I've ever seen any player celebrate a goal at a reserve game tbh. If you're a first team player, scoring against a wee 15 year old centre half, it would be pretty embarrassing celebrating anyway if have thought.

That is bizarre. Goals should be celebrated at any level of football, otherwise what is the point? And the guys in the reserves have to display some level of enthusiasm to show they are eager to get in the first team. Didn't see much of that in the highlights.

What's bizarre is suggesting there's no enthusiasm on display given that they've won 4-0.

Anyone who thinks Higgy is going to wildly celebrate scoring in a reserve game against Morton on a Monday afternoon in Kelty is off their head.

Nobody is off their head and nobody expected wild celebrations, but a wee bit more enthusiasm would not be out of place imo.

Scoring a goal normally gives players and teams a lift, but please yourself if you just want to counter a point made with an exaggerated reply.

My post was clearly a direct response to CrossPar's.

There's a bit of a signpost in my wording.

Have you even watched the video? If so, feel free to point out where you spotted the enthusiasm. Whether the won 4 nil or not is irrelevant. Some people on here would argue black was white.

You mentioned, "And the guys in the reserves have to display some level of enthusiasm to show they are eager to get in the first team."

I've watched the video. My point is that the players clearly showed a level of enthusiasm to give Morton a 4-0 pasting.

I'm not specifically referring to the enthusiasm of their goal celebrations.

I used to watch the reserve games in the last and more so when it was the 19’s. I think I’ve yet to see anyone celebrate scoring. Don’t blame them.

Bit odd. I've rarely seen a goal at any level not celebrated to some degree.
But we all have different experiences.

Out of curiosity I've watched the highlights again. Each goal-scorer was congratulated by his team-mates in a manner befitting a reserve match which was effectively won after the second, if not the first, goal. I can't understand what all the fuss is about.

I've seen it all now, mumping about someone not celebrating a goal against some 14 year olds from Morton.

What a ridiculous thing to highlight.

The usual suspects looking for negative as ever.

Weird.

It's all AJ's fault. Probably told them not to celebrate...

To be fair, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Four well taken goals that unusually all went into the same corner of the net. Higgys was a good opportunist goal. The Morton defence looked very shaky and error prone from what little is on view. Can't really muster much more to say about the highlights of an evening reserve game at Kelty, but that probably explains why people have got all excited about the subdued level of celebrations.

:)

It was an afternoon game at Kelty, a great wee club with better facilities than some championship clubs we visit. The football is often far more entertaining than what is on show on a Saturday afternoon, the young lads play at a good pace all game and no matter what the result do not give up. Maybe the perceived lack of celebration is because they have not had their heads turned by their superstar egos yet!!!!!
