Fair play to him, would have easily taken him back here but if he's getting to do some coaching elsewhere too then that is probably the best career choice

Fantastic team they’re building , balatoni, Galbraith, handling and Henderson all fantastic players at that level, would go as far to say I’d take Henderson here ahead of probably all of our strikers. Blair Henderson rejected a deal from the Pars at the time I'm sure.
No he didn’t, he was devastated when he wasn’t offered terms. I trained with our 18s with him and he was decent but like me sadly not good enough for us. Still speak to him and he’s really keen to get back full time. Thought he’d get into Dumbarton in the summer but they decided against it.
Huge jump from league 2 to even league 1 and championship. He’s certainly a long way off our level at the moment in my opinion

You’re (probably deliberately) ignoring the fact that Cardle came back from injury (having missed 3 games) and made 2 sub appearances and then 11/12 starts, before being dropped for Craigen, who came in and did a better job. Once Beadling got injured, Craigen moved into the middle and Aird got his chance.
Reality is, Cardle got his chance, but never even came close to recovering his form from the start of the season. Aird agreed a new deal and AJ let Cardle know he was free to go. The fact that Aird then went back on his word is not the manager’s fault. I think at that time, every single Pars fan would have agreed Aird was the better option.
Cardle was a great player on his day and I wish him well. He was very loyal to our club and will always be fondly remembered. But let’s not pretend that, at almost 32, he’s still the player he was 5/6/7 years ago.

I’d take Cardle back and would rather him over Connolly, however Par-91 makes a good point about how it ended for Cardle.
The mowhawk (also referred to as a mohican) is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the centre.

Aird signed for Utd on 1st June. Connolly signed on 20th June. Cardle didn't sign for Fylde until 20th July.
The reality is that AJ doesn't rate/like him. Preferred Aird last season, McMullan the season before that. Then chose to sign Connolly this summer instead.

I must've dreamt his start to last season where he started virtually every game, was unplayable and was banging goals in left right and centre at the very same time as Aird couldn't get a look in. All for a manager who didn't rate him.

You are right, he was on fire at the start of last season. So why did AJ free a guy who's proven at this level, lives locally and is a fan's favourite when he needed a player for that position?

I liked Joe but a fair percentage of our fans thought he was one dimensional and inconsistent. No idea what his postcode has to do with anything. Bizarre comment. And has been said elsewhere he was 32 probably one of our highest earners and maybe a younger fitter more consistent winger could be found and/or resigned (Aird)

You're aware that Cardle left Fylde because he wasn't happy down there as his family were still up here? He left that club solely because of it's postcode
Plenty of examples of transfers that don't work out for the specific reason that the player can't settle in the area.
Not a massive Cardle fan but don't see why he wasn't offered a deal vs. taking a punt on what we've ended up with
