 Stuart Armstrong

Is he really that bad that he can't get a game for Southampton? Or is Mark Hughes unable to recognise a player when he sees one?

He looked good against Israel but how many of those Israel players would he come up against in the English premier league?

Thought he was a bit lazy st times. Let his man go to often defensively. Attacking wise he had a decent game.

Armstrong is easily good enough for Southampton. He is more forward thinking, so tracking players and matching runs his not game.

It really depends if Hughes would be willing to make him the main creative forward thinking midfielder in his system.

Hope he gets a move away from there if he continues to warm the bench, too good a player for that.

He is a patchy player. He was with Utd, he was with Celtic, and he is with Southampton.
Players like Armstrong have to realise that it is only consistency that managers want and only consistency will keep you in the team.

On his day he can look like an international EPL player but these days are probably one in five - that is not good enough.

He'll always be etched in my memory as the guy who cost us that win against England at Hampden when he failed to 'look after the ball' in the dying minutes leading to Harry Kane's equaliser. Craig Gordon wasn't faultless mind you.

Think it's bit unfair to say 1 in 5 player Bertie. Think he is consistently good for Scotland and injuries have been more his downfall at club level.

Thanks wee eck, now replaying that pass over and over again in my head. It's second only to Bobo Balde's handball for Sliding Door moments in football for me. What was he actually trying to do???

Scored a belter, but Mark Hughes has to go.

Just watched MOD highlights, two great goals and keeper denied him another belter from outside the box.
Key player for Scotland if he can maintain that form.
