Hopefully muirhead is up top with Faissal rather than out wide in a 451. Faissal isn’t clever or strong enough to play the lone striker role. Will probably be a 4-3-2-1 with higgy and muirhead wide off Faissal.

5-4-1 by the looks of it.

Need a stronger Central midfield up there.

No idea what that formation will be.

Hopefully 4-3-2-1 with Faiss and Higgy off Muirhead but will probably be Faiss up top.

Just noticed the team , after recent performances I hope Ryan Williamson steps up his game as lately a traffic cone would have done more than him , I would have been happy enough to see James Craigen at RB as i don't think he deserved to be dropped ! obviously AJ looking for him and Higgy to renew their pairing on that side,
Hope Muirhead can do something also but anytime i have seen him he looks slower than a week in the Jail
so Cmon pars get into them

Watching the lads going through their routines on the pitch just now on Pars TV and I must say they seem to have a real spring in their step - that has been absent for a while. I hope that this is a sign that they are up for a game today.

I hope Ryan is matched up against Demetriou, when we beat St Mirren 3-0 last year, Ryan battered him for 45 minutes and got him subbed at half time.

Higgy sent off already. His most telling contribution so far this season.

How Williamson keeps his place ahead of craigan for an away game where we’ll need to be tight I don’t know and particularly as the only player he can play with is now off the park.

This is going to be an absolute horsing.

Just sitting here drenched in my own positivity! AJ is gone!

Enough of the nicey nicey p*sh. Johnston should be getting HOUNDED out of east end. 6”3 carthorse on the left wing and a boy who’s built like an 8 year old upfront on his own!? Johnston is an absolute moron. Players (a lethal goalscorer ffs) unmarked at corners. hope county score 7 here so it’s the last we see of him.

Have supported the Pars since 1985 when I went to my first game. home and away and anything inbetween, I now find myself for the 1st resigned to the fact we are going to get beat week in week out, I have absolutely no positivity when it comes to a match day and find myself caring less and less if we get beat.... but hey we still have a club and team to support on a Saturday 🤔🤔

The former he has a part yes, absolute basics that should be drilled into the players at training. It's not the first time.

Whatever happens on the pitch falls at the managers door.
He's no been able to instill any confidence in that team at all.. His fault!!

Can AJ get us out this league? Could do so by taking us into League One! That looks more likely than promotion when you consider that we have now taken 5 points out of the last 21(assuming we don’t make a miraculous recovery today)

No matter how many times it is said or shouted or screamed from the stands or on dot net AJ is going no where he has the boards backing..... think Ross sees the sun shines out his a÷×e. Again it is a defender who scores as it has been all season......followed the pars for 40 years and always will...... but I agree this needs to end.....if we go down trust me AJ will still be manager next season... he has experience of winning the league below us

Sick of hearing AJ should go. Is he to blame for the team being down to 10 men after 15 minutes? Of course not.
How about rather than repeating the same bull about AJ out and apathy blah blah - let’s hear the solutions ..
Who comes in? How is that paid for? Who pays the compensation for our management team? Who pays the compensation for any potential new manager? Where does the money come from if it doesn’t work and we’re relegated anyway? Where’s the money coming from in January to buy new players? People are utterly clueless if you cannot see that these questions have to be answered before any new manager comes in. Wake up ffs.
For every person who thinks the board are not doing enough - answer these questions yourself. I’m sure they’d love to hear your suggestions.

Maybe we can punt Ryan, muirhead, hippo, l longridge, higgy, Williamson, Devine , Vincent and faz to free up the money to get rid of aj.

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t in sound mind, let aj sign another player for us. Let him work with them to the end of the season if we have to but it’s just good money after bad.

For every Jackson longridge there’s been 6 duds who he hasn’t even bothered to play and when he does they are mince. Only manager I’ve seen who signs players he has no trust or faith in, why else sign muirhead.

We have ran at a profit every year AJ has been allowed to waste money on players like Ryan and Muirhead so there is 100% money there! It's about cutting your losses I'd imagine the drop in revenue from smaller crowds and potential relegation is far smaller than the cost of replacing the management. We don't need a new team we have some of the best players in the league that are constantly played it out of position, no tactics constant route one to a hobbit! AJ OUT NOW! We have sat and supported the team week in week out when we were on the bones of our ars! Every year up until last there was an improvement and a very minimal one at that. The man is completely lost it he had no chance of taking us to the next level My only concern is who do we replace him with?

Longridge didn’t score, it was an own goal. We’ve played well with 10 men after an act of folly.

Anybody that thins Allan could have done much more doesn’t have a clue. He’s made 3 subs bringing on fresh legs as and when required.

We’re still in the game away to the league favourites with 5 mins to go

Calm down

This attitude gets on my tits as well.

The ambition from the board and AJ was promotion, minimum playoffs, we have 15 points off of 14 games, quite frankly abysmal. AJ doesn't know how to get the best out of his players and his tactical awareness is zero, it's time to go. He's been with us a while now and still canny work it out.

This whole money chat, we don't know the financial situation, they were able to put money towards Ryan who's been rank.

Let's not spend money to get rid, and see the money escape elsewhere when everyone votes with their feet and the match revenue disappears.

I'm not willing to accept that we just let this season go because we can't afford to do anything about it, absolute nonsense, at this rate, we can't afford not to do it, we're closer to relegation.

If the board offered a two year contract and didn't think about this scenario then it is very very naive. Let's offer the guy a contract we can't pay ourselves out of......

I'm seeing it from a different perspective.

We keep AJ, let's play it that way, performances continue to be poor. Atmosphere at EEP is already rotten, folk are no longer attending matches and we're in the long term financially going to continue to get hit. Where's the money coming from to replace the lack of £20's that are getting handed over every second Saturday.

Let's keep AJ because we can't afford it, and accept to lose a shed load of more money because we still have that clown in charge.

As mentioned, if the board have offered a manager a two year deal knowing they can't afford to cater for the scenario whereby we have to let him go, then that's very naive.

The decision not to sack him isn't money related. Having said that, your post wouldn't make sense even if it did. On paper they were good signings but they haven't worked out.

There won't be a new manager before the end of the season at least. END OF.

Now it's as clear as the hooter on the late great Tommy Gemmell's face that our problem is scoring goals. So, instead of going ON and ON and ON and ON like Mrs Doyle in "Father Ted" about changing the management or BOD - why not get onto the subject that matters - our inability to score enough goals! If we had scored just a handful more we'd probably have beaten Falkirk, Morton and QOS - we could now have 23 points if we'd only scored an average amount of goals.

What's to be done about our forwards and/or inability to score enough goals????

How can I give you 100% certainty? How can you ever give 100% certainty with any change of management?

Sometimes we need to take a risk, bite the bullet and acknowledge that we can do and should do better and do something to change it.

For what it's worth, I'm sure it was a valiant effort up there today, but the effects of the season as a whole has just continued to build up inside, and I can no longer haud it in, especially when the only reason is because we can't do anything about it.

Accepting this is where we are and let's roll with it for whatever the reason is, just doesn't sit well with me. Sorry. :)

How does it not make sense? I’m making the point that they’ve surely got money there (which people on here have said they don’t) if they’re backing him with cash to sign fringe players. The board would have known Johnson wasn’t intending to start Ryan and Muirhead most weeks before they granted him money to sign him surely? There was no way Johnson signed Ryan last season to play him in front of Clark

Madness from Higgy, but AJ keeps doesn't change anything until 20 mins to go when the players are clearly blowing out their erses.

Accumulation of results aren't good enough, including today.

Bottom line ......... another defeat.

Our front line provides feck all to the scoreline.

Our top scorer has scored more than the front line combined - Stunning!!

After a season of consolidation & a top-4 we are now falling to bits.

All I ask of this season is to keep us up AJ (I can't believe I'm saying that in the Championship - but that's the reality). Forget top 4 that's a pipe dream, were not good enough.

Very disappointing.

And bring in who?

I'd take anyone right now. Problem is, we've left it late we've missed out on Neil on, McIntyre, who's got proven record of getting promoted.

Darren Young, Ian McCall are two.

Are we really saying there is noone capable across the UK to take AJ's place...I mean, really?? Come on man.

How many of these guys do you know would’ve 100% signed for us? I’m not willing to take the simplistic view that ‘there’s got to be someone better out there’ but we don’t know who that is or if we can afford it.

Sorry. :)

My point with the 100% ?? was more to highlight that names like this get banded about all the time but who’s to say they would even come.
I won’t disagree with you or anyone regarding results this season. It isn’t good enough. But I also don’t think the solution is as straight forward as it seems at times. And that’s not necessarily ‘accepting where we are’ but it’s about accepting reality. We aren’t a club rolling in cash. Whilst I care about the results, I don’t want to see the club in financial trouble again. It may well get to the point where the board do say that enough is enough but is there any point in arguing with each other after every result when there isn’t a reaction from the board?

If we gave AJ a year contract, he would have gone a while back.

I'll shurrup now.

Just fed up, truly fed up. It's ok though, we can't afford to do anything about it, and If that is honestly true, then it is a massive Board blunder.

Yet again he started with an absolute carthorse as a winger & Faissal upfront on his own.. we were beat before the game started. Yet again we see abysmal, schoolboy defending for the first goal. Yet again he waits until the games gone before making changes.. 88/90 minutes is completely pointless. Playing 75 mins with 10 men, the players must have been shattered.. get fresh legs on at 60. All these things are down to him alone, he’s utterly clueless. Johnston said at the start of the season his target was promotion. He’s failing miserably. They MUST sack him before Falkirk/partick catch us, which they will. We play them both away in the next month, 2 losses and we’d be in serious danger of going back to league 1 again. If that was to happen Mcarthur will take the blame for setting our club back another 5 years. If the club has money to throw down the drain on utter donkeys like Andy ryan and muirhead.. then they have money to get rid of him.

Exactly. Nobody expected to beat the best team in the league away. We only lost by 1, coming back from 2 down whilst a man down for 75 minutes.

Not a day to have a go at the manager.

Really? We get beat and aren't allowed to criticise the manager?

Madness from Higgy, but AJ keeps doesn't change anything until 20 mins to go when the players are clearly blowing out their erses.

Accumulation of results aren't good enough, including today.

What would you have done to achieve more today?
Do you think he had any options to go for a win?
Snatching a goal and not conceding more was the best he could realistically hope for.
He seems to have nearly managed. We only lost one more and did pull one back. We scored one and lost one whilst down to ten men away to the richest team in the league and you think you could do better. You think the managers tactics were wrong so you must know better, so what would you have done today and can you guarantee you would have fared better

7 defeats from 14 games, the same amount as when Kenny got the sack....

should have gone 2 weeks ago, should go now but the board will keep plodding along thinking it will turn at some point, Morton at home next week will be "interesting"...

and to folk going on about Muirhead being on the left wing/midfield, Johnston played him there at Killie, he played there at every other club, its not new!

The team goes down to 10 after 19 mins.

AJ makes 2 subs 88/90.

Use all your subs & start bringing them on after the hour mark. It's not rocket science - Collectively the team is starting to tire - replace players.

Why is our management team so inept at making a decision until its to late?

I think there's a bit of a problem with players like Muirhead who are neither an old fashioned, traditional, hug the line, beat the fullback winger, nor are they forceful attacking wide midfielders.

Imo, they fall between the two and excel at neither.

Muirhead just has no pace and little drive when I've seen him, plus I thought he was announced as a striker when we got him.

You know, Parrot, it's just not worth the angst. There are some on this site that just can't see the wood for the trees ...... and it willl never change.
Those able to take a broader view may be in the apparent minority but at least their good sense may avoid the club going into administration yet again. (Can it be just 5 years since we last went down that road with all the associated heartache that resulted?)
We do not have a huge pot to be able to buy better players / constantly change managers. FACT.
Pre-season I'd say the majority of supporters were congratulating the manager on his signings - how quickly that can change. With the significant number of changes that were made to the squad from last year it was always going to take a while before the team gelled. Can folk not realise this? And Faiss was probably the most popular signing ever: witness the huge number of views on the subject on this site prior to his signing. I recall when Sir Alex took over at Old Trafford he signed Brian McClair .... and the first season was a disaster. Thereafter it was one successful season after another. I'm not saying we can guarantee a similar result but there has to be a degree of patience from the support.
And as for sacking the manager? How many " useless" managers' heads have our discerning dotnetters called for in the past decade?
Stephen Kenny? Seems to be doing OK with Dundalk and recently tipped for the Republic of Ireland job. Useless?
Jim McIntyre. Wins the league with the Pars one year and is dumped the next. Seems now to have installed a bit of confidence in the team at Dundee in difficult circumstances and folk on this site are now talking about missing the opportunity to have him back. Useless?
Jim Jefferies. Took on an impossible job with a half baked team and dragged them back from the precipice. Signed one or two useful players too. Useless?
Maybe I'm showing my age but there are some so-called supporters that seem need instant success / gratification all the time. Well, guys, wake up and smell the coffee. That's not the real world.
Me? I congratulate the Board for steadying the ship and keeping a firm hand on the tiller.
And to those supporters who are continually threatening on this site to stop following the club, I'd say go. Frankly I don't think your continual whingeing is going to help anyone or anything.
We've been through difficult times before and we will again. That's football. I look forward with optimism to us turning a corner - hopefully sooner rather than later - but I'm pragmatic enough to realise that it might just be "later".

Why do we keep Clark, AJ is in charge, plus he is young enough to work with the players. Clark is older and only works part time. He would be cheaper to get rid of, promote Stevie C to assistant manager and employ someone as player coach. My choice would obviously be Joe Cardle.

I don't think today's result is the clincher to get rid of AJ but the way things are going as Bamba daft mentioned in his post Patrick and Falkirk and Alloa could all Finnish above us the way things are going. Even Stenhousemuir could beat Falkirk and scored 4 against them today in the cup. If we keep AJ till the end of the season we really have to start winning at home to keep more of our support coming to the matches. Not to confident of getting past Raith in the cup right at this moment.

There's a bit of scaremongering going on here.

Nobody who advocates change wants to see spending any money we don't have and certainly don't need reminding of the state we were in five years ago.

For a start, there is no cowboy banker with his finger in the pie, nor an over zealous Chairman at his behest to take us down that path again.

However, there is clearly a lot of discontent and concern among the support that the football, the results and the management are underperforming and little if any words of comfort are being heard from the Board to give confidence that the situation will improve any time soon.

Patience is a virtue, but doing nothing is destructive as some fans patience will not last as long as others and ultimately revenue could be hit.

Of course, in the fickle world of football, a couple of good results might lift the mood in the camp, but at the moment that does not look likely.

Just a thought, why was AJ not at the recent supporters meeting? If it was to avoid unharmonious questions, that was the wrong thing as it looked like avoidance and what we want as supporters is transparency in all aspects of the club.

Come on he isn’t going to turn this around, aye he has in the past but we just aren’t good enough, we need to take action before we hit bottom of the league going into the new year, we keep him charge and we will go down! Our board probably would still cream over AJ and keep him since we can’t afford to sack him but afford to sign absolute spuds in Ryan and Muirhead

We have these god awful runs every season and we usually just about pull ourselves out of it with a decent run. But we had a cracking defender and striker last season who helped.

I’m struggling to see how this run ends. We need to be playing Alloa away every week otherwise I fear another blank and no points just nowand I fancy Morton will do the same as failkirk and qos, sit tight and score once we’re tired and aj yet again waits too long to make subs.

Just sitting here drenched in my own positivity! AJ is gone!

It’s not games against the likes of Ross County we need to worry about. In a sense thats a free game. It’s the teams around our end of the table we need to beat. If we can avoid a defeat against Morton next week then beat Partick away we might just be able to turn things around. It doesn’t look good at this point. 2 goals at home in the league is shameful.

Left myself some time to reflect on the game and have come to the following short conclusions.

Higgy - Absolute clown today (I'm sure he knows that though)

Rest of the players put in a good shift.

AJ made subs too late - not for the first time either.

I stayed to the end with my son and along with a few Pars fans clapped the players when they came over at the end. Thought they deserved it for the effort they put in after going down to 10 men.

As if the score wasn't bad enough - one so called supporter went on a rant at the end shouting at us for applauding the players effort barging into me and my 13 year old son - hope you are feeling proud of yourself you absolute @!$£. An absolute disgrace of a man - and if you don't ever come back to EEP - you will not be missed. I am not a prude in any way shape or form, but to start shouting at a small group of supporters (mainly children) really is low

Yes, those of us who were there know who you mean, allan. Some fans can't accept that it's possible to lose a game of football but still put in a good performance and give everything for the team.

I thought AJ got the subs about right. Taking off a midfielder and bringing on a striker with about 20 minutes was quite positive I thought considering we were down to 10 men. Coincidentally we scored almost immediately and were still causing them problems so the result was in doubt until the final whistle. When you're already a man down there's always the worry you could lose another one to injury if you use all your subs too early.

We were always in the game. Sometimes subs can disrupt the rhythm of the team. When folk say AJ made the wrong subs what they actually mean is he didn't make the subs I would have made. Unfortunately for him only his subs have to go on the pitch and perform. Yours perform in your head and always make a difference.

Well said Yorkiepar.

There are some of us old enough to remember the 70’s, so trust me, this level is not bad, and this level is where we are at the moment. I don’t think we’re ready yet for the premier league, so we need to accept building strong foundations in the championship.

On the subject of changing the manager, I for one am happy we are not a sacking club. We need to keep the man who has delivered everything he has promised so far. Just remember, if we were to get 3/4 game run, we are right back in it, and that’s not beyond us.

Calm down and let it all unfold. What will be will be.

Firstly I'd like to say well done to the team for bearing up we'll against the odds and to the fans for a long and mainly supportive journey.

However, I wasn't at the game, but the late timing of subs is always something which irritates me and others.

When playing a man short for 75 minutes, it's not unreasonable to think that some players may be tiring and if anything subs made earlier than normal, maybe holding one back in case of an injury.

What is becoming obvious at many games though is that it's not just that subs are made late, they are not good enough to make any impact on the games anyway.
Then you add some of the silly reshuffles that we've seen and the mind does wonder just what goes on in the thinking of AJ and Sandy.

Well done again though for a nearly good return.

I think you've covered all the bases there, mach1. He should make his subs earlier but there's no point as the subs available are no better than what's on the field. I presume that means you don't favour 'like for like' subs then, but you also don't like 'silly reshuffles'.

Football management's easy from the sidelines isn't it? If you'd been at the game I'm sure you would have come up with even more astute observations.

Firmly believe we would have got at least a point from qos and Falkirk games if aj opened his eyes and took Martin off when he was walking in quicksand after 65-70 minutes.

Everyone else could see we had lost the legs in there in both games, it’s one thing not making the sub once and loosing the game but to them do the same a couple of weeks later ending with the same result is criminal.

If anything it feels like he’s almost bringing subs on with minutes to go just to noise up the fans. That’s all it achieves anyway.

Just sitting here drenched in my own positivity! AJ is gone!

Your sly digs in your posts really don't help you much. There's no point making subs, because they aren't any better than those on the field??

An absolutely knackered player is better option than a fully fit lad on the bench?

Changing players disrupts the rhythm, what rhythm man! We've been rotten this season and all AJ does is make changes too late, wee token gestures with a couple of mins left, it seems everyone can see the shift in momentum and need for a change before he does.

Did AJ not say he had a really strong side and excellent competition for places? So much flexibility as well he said....make use of it man!!

I was paraphrasing mach1. He thinks AJ should make subs earlier but he doesn't think anyone on the bench is any better than what's on the field. If our players are knackered after an hour they can't be training properly He made his first sub with about 20 minutes to go and it was a striker for a midfield player. Didn't you like that?

Why paraphrase me wee eck?

The silly reshuffles I was referring to were in a recent home game when Hippolyte was switched twice then Muirhead was put on as a wide player, then Connolly was pushed up front and still we played in high balls.
Maybe you thought those were smart moves though.

Choose any of the other posters who think AJ makes a hash of substitutions.

Craigen on for Vincent was the right sub too but far too late as was Hippolyte coming on.

Not to keen on AJ's tactics but yesterdays game was not where he should be judged - Higgy ruined it for everyone and you just cannot legislate for that.

Substitutions can be used in many different ways. AJ isn’t pro active and has cost us many games in the last 2 seasons with his nonsense. As Raymie says if you are on the bench in AJs team you’d be raging. The constant dropping of players and bringing them back isn’t exactly great either. You don’t need to look far for why players keep wanting to leave.
