Looking at tonight's card, Lyon - Man City looks a stick on for the neutrals. I feel sorry for those who feel they'll have to watch Man U labour to a scrappy 1-0 win v Young Boys or should that be Men v Young Boys ☺

Man City are an absolute joy to watch. I never thought I’d see Guardialo managing to have City playing at a level that he did at Barca. I remember I used to watch Barca swat teams 5 and 6 nil and you’d hear the comments about the Spanish league being a pub league. He’s come over here and he’s doing the same , maybe better , without Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. You always hear the same stuff.. resources , players , could he do it with Stoke ? Who cares? Plenty of managers have been giving relative sums of money and failed. Imo it is true that he improves players and plays an attractive style of football .

Lyon could and should have had three goals.
Great game.

Laporte. Excellent player and great signing for the way Pep wants to play

And there’s the scrappy 1-0 for Man Utd, complete with late winner that shoulda been disallowed :)

Very impressed by Ndombele and Aouar in midfield for Lyon. I believe they are only 20/21?

This Lyon team reminds me of the Monaco side of a few years ago. I’d expect the big boys to come calling with their cheque books in the summer

Ach it wisnae hard to predict that, Bpp - even Raymie could have done it. :-)

My fav was a good few seasons ago, when Chelsea played Napoli in the KO stages. They'd lost the first leg 3-1 in Naples. I said they were good enough to score 3 goals at Stamford Bridge in the return, but I couldn't see them keeping a clean sheet, so I predicted it would go to extra time and Chelsea would score a decisive 4th................

(Coughs modestly) ;-)

Eta The Lyon - City game wasn't half bad either, was it? Not that I would have expected TOWK and Co to watch it when Jose's rampant Reds were playing....

Tonight's games look difficult to choose from.

Liverpool and PSG looks the most obvious shout but Spurs v Inter could be good too.

Beat me to it, lpf...... :-)

It's PSG v Liverpool for me as both teams simply have to go for it. Spurs v Inter would normally be a good shout, but the Italians may well park the bus. An early goal for Spurs would make for an interesting game.

Good game. Lifeline for Pool courtesy of a crazy tackle by Di Maria

Not a great fan of Liverpool but I hope they get an equaliser or win as the blatant play acting by the French team is embarrassing.

I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Buffon looks every bit his 40 years, but he is still a hell of a goalkeeper. Liverpool look like have got the Pars disease; they get into the attacking third and then pass the ball backwards...
