Would they have the stadium requirements to be promoted.

Maybe so but it could happen I think the criteria is 3000 seats I don't think their stand holds even half that.

No, they are fine with that they have. They might well want to do something though, with the crowds they'd get v Celtic, Rangers and Kilmarnock.

They will have deserved it, watching them tonight they are full of confidence and will be difficult for us on the 22nd.

I hope they do win the league, playing good football, good club, decent fans. I think they would be a good addition to the Premiership

Still don't think they'll win the league but what a performance!

I think a safety certificate might be the issue. The stand is truely awful - is there any disabled access? There is hardly room to have your feet straight in front of you - it's dangerous imo.

"What happened to all seat criteria."

That was an SPL rule; there isn't an SPL any more.

"I think a safety certificate might be the issue. The stand is truely awful - is there any disabled access? There is hardly room to have your feet straight in front of you - it's dangerous imo."

They have one now and have played the likes of Kilmarnock and Rangers in recent seasons with no issues. The criteria are the same as they are for the Championship, so any club that is promoted to the top flight will be fine.

I hope you won't be forced to reassess your evaluation on the 22nd of December, da.

None of us gave Livi much of a chance of going up last season, even after they'd clinched a place in the play offs.

It would be, like Livingston, before them, a fantastic achievement, with credit due to their players and manager.

Masterclass from Ayr........

Couple of great goals and total domination.

They work hard.
Play for each other.
Every man knows where he's meant to be - Tactics/coaching.
A bit of self belief generates a whole lot of confidence.

We are nowhere near this team but that's what we should aspire to.

Well played Ayr & Ian McCall.

No, of course not. I just hope you won't have changed your mind about Ayr's ability to win this league, because we've made them look quite ordinary. ☺

Indeed Angus. Remember though that Ian McCall was sacked by QOS and Dundee Utd and not sure how it all ended at Falkirk. He was also relegated to League 1 with Ayr but their Chairman kept faith with him.......

Maybe our Chairman will be similarly rewarded for not pressing the ejector button on AJ...... Time will tell.

He left them to go to Dundee Utd.

Ayr obviously are the surprise package this season, helped along by "he's not good enough says AJ" Lawrence Shankland.

They play an attractive style of football, always wanting to find the net. That kinda team deserves the league, unlike the inconsist Dundee Utd n Ross County, who on paper are favourites but not overly performing well.

Hindsight is wonderful, isn't it? Tbh, most of us agreed with AJ at the time. He would probably hold his hand up and admit he boobed there.

The other thing to bear in mind is that Ayr play in a way which suits Shankland. It may not have worked so well for him at EEP. Look at Reilly - it didn't happen for him here, but he scored regularly at QOS and St Mirren.

...we have absolutely no excuse not to go for it next year.

With regards to their stadium, they’ll be fine. The SPFL rules changed and are much more relaxed than the old SPL ones. Having had a look at the rules with regard to stadium’s, can’t find any thing about capacity. Only deciding factor it seems is if they have good enough floodlights.

We love Dunfermline We do!

Lawrence Shankland admitted himself that he wasn't good enough, and that Ayr was his last chance. Fair play to him, he's got himself fit and playing some excellent stuff.

Only problem for Ayr is, they may struggle to keep him in January.

He didn't boob. He wasn't setting the heather on fire and there was no indication he was going to at the time.

He completely transformed himself. Must have realised it was his last chance. Well done him.

IMO - Ayr will be up for the Swansea deal.

He's going whatever so to get cash upfront + hold onto him for the rest of the season is a good deal.

They can strengthen their team in January for a title push with the money.

Win - Win all round.
