In all honesty I do not expect to see AJ signing more players. It would be an admission of guilt that his signings this Summer have not been up to scratch.

I kind of get the impression that because he doesn't ask too much of the board and just does what he is told, that is one of the main reasons why he is still in place

How does anyone on here know what AJ has asked of the board for the coming window?

His biggest issue however will be moving players out he might want to due to injuries!

I think our leave position will make it difficult to attract quality players. I agree he needs to strengthen in aome positions. We have good players but for some reason it isnt coming together as well as you would hope. One or two players sometimes can make all the difference.

Don't think this has been confirmed yet. Certainly looks likely. Would be a fantastic coup to get him. I wonder if this deal potentially suggests Morelos is off? Or maybe Gerrard will change system and go 4-4-2. Can't imagine either would settle for a regular seat on the bench.

Brechin have signed experienced midfielder and 2-time capped Scotland international, Scott Robertson.

The 33-year-old stepped away from the playing side in the summer, having left Barry Smith's Raith Rovers to take up a coaching role at youth level with Dundee United.

Following Smith's departure from Stark's Park and now new role at Brechin City, the ex-Hibs player has decided to pull the boots back on, signing a 6-month deal with the Glebe Park club.

Last January, Stevie Wonder could see the issue we had was in the middle of the park.

This January, it's far less obvious. The stats suggest it to be goals, however, we've got forward players who have under-performed that you feel could kick on. Hippolyte & Connolly have shown glimpses of what they are capable of, Muirhead hasn't kicked a ball but his pedigree suggests he's worth a try. Fais & Keena I'd imagine are here to stay and I'd like to see Smith getting a crack again even if it's just from the bench.

More than enough to be getting on with rather than needlessly buying journeyman 3 days into the month.

Very good, and with Falkirk clearing out their Deadwood and signing Ian McShane, perhaps he can be the player to bring their fans some love/ joy this season

Falkirk are well pushing the boat out here.

Time will tell if they are positive aquasitions to there squad.

IMO - McKinnon knows what he's doing, Falkirk cannot afford to go down & have given him money. They will be a completely different team next time we meet.

We need to put some distance between ourselves & The relegation zone.

Starting tommorow!

Oliver Burke loan to Celtic till end of season from WBA

Interesting signing: Burke hasn't locked on following a promising beginning - maybe the Scotland caps and exposure he got quite early on in his career have caught up with him? There must've been a lot of pressure on him to perform to such a high standard every week while still developing.

Give Rodgers credit though, he's improved a lot of youngsters while at Celtic - Dembele, Roberts, Armstrong, McGregor, Christie etc. He's also got the best out of guys like Sinclair, Boyata, Rogic and Griffiths so from West Brom's point of view, this could be a fantastic opportunity for Burke to kick on again and then they get him back, refreshed, full of confidence etc in the summer. A no-lose scenario here for West Brom; a big 6 months for Burke and, potentially, a shrewd piece of business by Celtic.

Aidan Nesbitt would have been good for us, not sure if he has been injured or just not in the picture at MK Dons.

Similarly on the left sided front Stefan Scougall is miles out of the first team picture at St. Johnstone; he would be a good signing at this level.

The Burke signing is a good one for Celtic but not for the player. He's always had talent, strength and pace but a succession of managers have kept him out the team on account of his poor positional sense, lack of tracking back and general weaknesses defensively. He's not going to get tested in any of these areas at Celtic and so he'll just stagnate on that side of things. He'll probably bang in a fair few goals and provide a few assists but he'll not get better as a player and that won't benefit him or the national team.

Falkirk looking at bringing in another 4 and releasing a few according to radio Scotland

Tom Dallison has left Falkirk this morning after mutually terminating his contract.

After signing Steve Davis and Jermaine Defoe on loan, rumours are rife that Ryan Hardie will be recalled by Rangers after impressing on loan with Livingston - that'd be a major blow for the Lions if true.

Bobby Burns (Livi) and Ryan Edwards (St Mirren) have returned to Hearts following their loan spells with fellow Premiership clubs. Jimmy Dunne has left after his loan from Burnley ended, replacing him with Conor Shaughnessy on loan from Leeds.

Martin Woods has signed a contract extension with Dundee while Jim McIntyre's men have also brought in Craig Curran on a permanent basis after his release by Dundee United.

Erskine is still a Thistle player with Partick saying that he's still part of their first-team squad but he's mulling over an offer from another team with his future "in his own hands".

He's not hit the heights he's capable of this campaign under Archibald or Caldwell, that's fair to say, and maybe a move away from Firhill is what he needs. He'd be a good signing for Ayr I think, certainly gives them another option in attack. However, he's still a player with PT and this is all speculation.

Used to be the case that if you had a double barrelled name you were very posh. These days it normally means that you are the product of a chance meeting one night in the pub car park between the local bike and a guy from an inner city estate
