Does the undersoil heating at East End still work, and is it financially worth while switching it on?

If not on game will be a no no as due to be in the Minus each night up till Saturday night

Agree with above, another week to work with players would prob be a good thing at the moment but on the other hand will lose a fair bit financially if game held on midweek

Everything should be done to make sure the game doesn’t go ahead. Can’t get beat if you don’t play. Last thing we need is a pumping from Financially Doped FC !

Dundee United must have been above us in alphabetical order when we beat them at Tannadice in the first game of the league season.😉

I thought on reading it, we had a temporary move to some Italian league, with a lazio united in it.

Aye, he's a bit of a cunning fox is 1981par, but I managed to crack his coded post. You see Dundee United were managed by Csaba Laszlo when we finally laid our long winless run against the Arabs. Nothing at all to do with SS Lazio of Rome who play in Serie A and are followed by neoFascists and other assorted far right thugs.

Ah, on my little screen, I thought that was lazio, not lazlo.

I did know who Lazio are, but I'm probably too simple for coded messages.

Mind you, I've just finished reading Operation Zigzag about a WW2 double agent. True story and a great read if you like that kind of thing.

It's not so much that you're simple, mach1. It's all those brain cells that no longer function. I think it's called Auldtimer's..... 😉

If we don’t make a few decent signings then keep it off, could do without reflecting on another crap performance on a Saturday night.

If we do make some decent signings then keep it off to give them some time to train with the team and work out some kind of master plan as to how we can score a goal.

To summarise: don’t turn it on, a game this weekend against Ross County is unlikely to be a great idea.

If the temperature stays as low as it is it will reduce the attendance, not much fun watching football in freezing conditions.

Apologies. I got the title wrong.
It is Agent Zigzag and it is by Ben Macintyre, a true story. He also wrote Operation Mincemeat.

As GG says, it's that auldtimers thing.
Actually, it's because I read so much, but it's nor a problem anyway, because I've got so many brain cells that it would be fifty years till they are worn out lol!

It is a good yarn if you like to know how ruthless special services can be and the tension these people lived under.

On the heating, I hope the game is on, for the revenue, to see if any improvement on last game and mostly for the young lad who is mascot on the day.

I see 3 League 2 games have been called off already including Cowdenbeath. I'd imagine if it was in any doubt it would be called off early with the distance the away team have to travel.

If thats the state of the pitch, doesn't look likely to be on, so early decision would be great regarding travelling distance of fans etc, shouldn't really be left to am tomorrow for that decision to be made.

The heating is on and the pitch was in perfect condition at 11-45 today so unless we have a major set back with the heating or there is a severe drop in temps and snow the game will be on.

Was it the Mad Hun who put off our home gave v Kilmarnock at 1 pm because of fog, some years ago?

Of course by 3 pm the sun was splitting the skies and conditions were perfect for football.......

Agree with veteraneastender, I travel from the Alloa area, and in the days before the internet, used to phone the club, and be told "local ref has inspected the pitch and the game is on"I then go through to Dunfermline, only to find the match official has turned up and put the game off! wasted journey!

or better still an avalanche of goals. C O Y P

Temp to rise to a balmy (!) 3 degrees by KO and the snowfall last night was light enough that the approaching roads and pavements, I’d imagine, will be clear for safely getting to EEP. BBC weather reporting no more snow, either.

Not sure what the situation is like for the travelling Staggies tho (unless the majority of them are already down here).
