 Optimist, Pessimist, or Realist?
Topic Originator: cfad

Ok, let's see how many of each we have on this board (although I have a sense that I already know 😉) - Craws first home game in charge. The start of us turning the corner, or another false dawn?

Is it possible to give a balanced post, if you are anything but a realist ?

It's bloody tough being a legend

Better to ask his question tonight. We will have a better idea after the game (assuming it is on).

I am confident we will see goals today.

Though I am aware that hasn't answered your question.

Realist. Not expecting anything from this game. What I am looking for is a performance encapsulating hard work and endeavour for 90 mins. If somehow we can also add a bit of flair and a couple of goals I will be delighted.

It will be interesting to see how both teams are set up. Will we try to stop county playing or will we,as I think we should when at home, take the game to them. Vice versa will county sit in and counter or will they go for it from kick off.

That is why I like football. Expect the unexpected.

Realistically I am an optimistic pessimist. In my heart we will win today but I just know we won't. I think.

Realist.

Good things are a bonus and celebratory while bad things I'm prepared for.
That applies to all of life not just football.

It helps to maintain a sense of balance when life sneaks up on you.

When I left the ground after the Alloa game, I was pretty much decided not to go back for a while (yeah, I knew we had a run of away games anyway, but I was very definitely a pessimist).

Nothing has happened in the last month to make me feel happier about the team, but here we are on a Saturday morning and I can't wait for the game.

To answer the question, I'm still a pessimist. But I love watching the Pars.

I like my steak medium to well done. Similarly, I am a optimist to realist.
Pretty crap analogy but its the best way I can put it.

I’m normally always optimistic, but this season I’ve worn myself out, and after a change in manager and a couple of new signings my feeling towards the rest of the season haven’t changed. I’ve gone from believing we could win the league to just wanting the season to be over. With us still in the Championship.

We are heading straight down. Partick and Falkirk have improved and we’ve hired a rookie manager. What’s the long term goal here ? Start again in League 1 ? Build for the future? We collapse under pressure every single time. Chances of staying up are minimal.
