How far offside was that goal! Shambolic. Their 2nd goal that was ruled offside was very close.

I'd like an expert opinion on their first goal - it was a Pars player who had the last contact before it fell to their scorer.

Maybe the officials got it right ?

It all depends on whether or not he was offside when the ball was kicked. If he was offside at that point he’s offside. If he was onside when the ball was kicked but moved into an offside position before it hit the pars player then he’s onside.

The lino was not up with play for Mackay's goal - that was the problem

I'll reserve judgement till i see the highlights. Initial shot took a big deflection and I suspect the only person in the stadium looking along the line at the point the shot was struck was the linesman himself. If he was correct the numpty who raced the length of the northwest stand to abuse him is going to look even more stupid.

Looked like he was well offside when the first shot came in by the way he was so open. The linesman was almost level with the shooter and not the last line of defence though - looked like he was well off the pace. He also had a few decisions right in front of him that he guessed, got wrong or was presumably overruled by the ref.

I'm not sure the one chalked off, was offside?

Sorry to say the goal was given so it will not matter how we dissect it
Another game lost though on a bad decision ?
we need to score goals so we are not put in this position !!
But that is our problem we cannot score goals

Stevie Crawford indicates the linesman called it right. Humble pie for a lot of people...

“I have had a look back at it and he is definitely onside. As frustrating as it is, the linesman has made the right call.”

Looked like he was in line with Devine when the initial shot was hit.

I suspected it was the right call, unfortunately.

The referee got grief in the first half from home sport for calling an offside - in our favour, not realising what was being given !!!

Nah they were complaining he didn’t play advantage as we had the ball. To be fair to the ref he held both hands up as if to apologise.

I didn't realise there was an advantage possibility there.

He played advantage a few times to our benefit.

In the second he half booked two RC players when played stopped after allowing the game to continue. Never seen that before.

The assistant referee, called the decision for the goal correctly as it was played off Devine and the referee was also correct in booking the 2 County players when the play stopped. As he allowed play to continue he had to wait for the first opportunity for the ball to go out of play otherwise he would have had to stop the game for both.
Good refereeing decisions.

I think Willamson played Mckay onside for the first goal, it looked like he was offside because the partial block on the ball took a lot of the pace off it before it reached him. Mckay also looked well onside for the goal that was disallowed. If anything we got the benefit of a few mistakes from the officials yesterday.

"as it was played off Devine"

it needs to be a deliberate act by the defender which it wasn't, it was allowed as someone was playing him onside.

Just watched the highlights and the lino was correct to allow their goal. It's the fact that our defence is so static that confused everyone at the time.

Lol. He wasn’t even close to being offside. And he was still well onside at the point the ball hit the pars player (even though that’s not relevant)

Trackback my words here. Looks level in the video. I would argue the second goal was was ruled offside was onside.

He’s not even close to level at the time the ross county player struck the ball. He’s at least a yard onside. I wouldn’t even call this a ‘good decision’ by the linesman. Instead I would suggest that if he’d made any other decision it would have been downright scandalous.

And might I also suggest that everybody in the Norrie show some awareness that they cannot make a call on an offside decision. Other than the maybe the toilets, we have the worst position in the ground and it’s effectively impossible for us to tell.

And while I’m at it, the same goes for judging if a ball is out of play. If the ball is a foot in the air and is directly over the touchline, it will look to everyone in the norrie that the ball is out of play. This is because, from your angle, you can see the touchline and the grass as if it’s on the pitch side of the ball.

Just looked at the highlights , unfortunately it was a good decision by the linesman !!
whats more alarming is the culprit in both Goals
first goal came about by Ashcroft doing his usual and setting it up for the shot in the first place (he cannot clear his lines )
2nd goal started with Higgy giving it away in box when Gardyne got the ball and turned to shoot Ashcroft dives in , you cannot make a tackle or a block if your on your backside
I watch this every week from Ashcroft does anyone else see this ?
Same when any balls come into the box he always seems to put them back in the danger area
He needs dropped get Beadling in there drop Devine too and give Blair a crack there cannot be any worse

Not feeling stupid about that one wether it was off or onside. I want angry at that time and let the anger out. No harm done really.

Lol. Seems a bit harsh on the linesman though. He was getting pelters for that decision.

Apologies to the linesman from me for the first goal. However was the throw given to them before the 2nd goal not ours? Seemed to me like he was just waiting for the ref to decide every decision for him. Like they all do.

The highlights show that the linesman got both the big offside calls right.
