Unbelievable miss from Sergio Aguero against Chelsea.
Worse than Andy Ryan

And another. It could be embarrassing for Chelsea if City don’t let up?

Oft. Have Man City stepped up a gear since they dropped points the other week or have Chelsea found another reverse gear?

Bit of both.

Imagine a centre back pairing of Van Dijk and Laporte or a strike pairing of Hazard and Aguero?

Yes, could well be. That situation was unthinkable not that long ago. Sarri got off to a great start remember. It's been another great season for the epl imo. It was only a couple of weeks ago it looked done and dusted at the top and the top 4 looked finished as well. Still plenty to go however, it is living up to the best league in the world claim this season at least.

The players obviously don’t fancy Sarri anymore. This is kind of what they do when they want change. Man City are class though.

Strange one. They get on well

Will be a very interesting Sarri interview although I doubt he’ll be out tonight

''Unbelievable miss from Sergio Aguero against Chelsea.

It really is unbelievable when you watch it back and consider that it fell to one of the top strikers in the world right now. It's the equivalent of Tiger Woods missing a one foot putt in his hey day.

Andy Ryan will feel a whole lot better about his miss if he sees that.

Glaring miss then a screamer but still never worked out why even a schoolboy defender would ever head a ball back to his six yard box.Well taken but a gift really.

Both chances were absolute sitters, but when you consider the levels the strikers on the end of each is playing at, you have to say Aguero's is worse.

Andy Ryan’s chance was far easier, he had the full goal to aim at and about 20 minutes to set himself. Aguero’s chance happened in a split second.

I honestly think Ryan’s is the worst miss ever. Worse than anything harald brattback came up with for Celtic, or Chris Iwelumo for Scotland.

It's all about how they react to it. Either the head can go down and it can play on their mind, or they can just forget about it and only think about their next chance

I have often wondered if Ryan was carrying an injury when he missed the sitter. The Ryan, when he first signed would have scored.

Ryan is not good enough to have played when carrying an injury. You’d only consider that for your really key players

Ryan's miss was MILES worse. He was a yard out in front of the middle of the goals FFS

Raymie, he might have been asked how he was and said he was 100% when he wasn't. Given his lack of game time and the way the season was going, that doesn't seem outwith the realms of possibility.

Haven't seen it yet but fail to believe worse than Ryan's. Alloa Par most of the stadium would have scored. It's a shame for Andy that he's been injured pretty much since and hasn't had a chance to redeem. Hopefully he can put it out of his head, hopefully he doesn't read this forum ;)

''Haven't seen it yet but fail to believe worse than Ryan's.''

Ryan had more of the goal to aim at, but he's a journeyman footballer. Aguero's was a tap in and he's a world class striker.

No comparison, imo. Aguero would normally bury that with his eyes shut.....

Given all the pretty recent talk about psychological harm done to players from being verbally abused and how we fans should be getting right behind the team and boosting their confidence, this thread seems to be doing an expert job in achieving the very opposite for Andy Ryan.

Don't think I've ever known such harrying of a player for one act, regardless of the consequences or specifics of the situation.

As others have often said, let's hope the players don't read the forum, as this is one particularly pointed assassination on one lad.

Unfortunately, many of them do read the forum, mach1 and are bound to be affected by any comments, both negative and positive. That is as good a reason as any to steer away from excessive criticism. Ryan would normally have buried that chance 99/100. I wonder what percentage one of his critics would muster. Why crucify him, just because he's a professional footballer?

Chelsea qualified for the champions league the season before the takeover and had previously made the quarter finals when Flo played for them so not a quite a 2nd division team.

Charlie Dickson missed a bigger sitter than Ryan's. Think it was against Dundee at East End. From about a foot out he managed to scoop the ball o'er the bar. Still scored plenty more for us for years after.
The vitriol shown to Ryan on here was a disgrace.
