Claudio speaks English like Italians are meant to ie like Chico Marx(ask your Granddad).

When he did post match conferences , for Journalists at Leicester, some worked for Italian newspapers.

Ranieri always said he was "Supra la Luna" ie "Over The Moon".

There is no such expression in Italian. It was poking fun at the English football cliches!

John Toshack did likewise in his first Spanish gig at Real Sociedad. Having learned a bit of pidgin Spanish he would tell reporters post match, that he was either "sick as a parrot" or "over the moon" depending on the result, while all the journalists scratched their heads in bewilderment.

Very harsh, TOWK. Claudio is a good coach, which is why he has worked at a variety of top clubs. He hasn't won many trophies a-la Mourinho, but he's always been close and the one he won with Leicester will never be repeated. Sometimes, his avuncular style makes people think he's too nice to be a proper, hard-as-nails, manager and his abilities are minimised.

He spent two seasons at Juve, their first back in Serie A, after their enforced relegation for their part in the Calciopoli scandal and guided then to a 2nd and 3rd place finish. Not good enough for Juve, so he was sacked. His replacement led them to 7th place the following season.

At Chelsea he would almost certainly have won the CL had the attacking substitution he made in the Monaco semi-final not backfired. I think he'd have been a better fit than Jose at Man U.

Another one from Toshack which confussed the Spanish press was saying pigs will fly over the Bernabeu before he would retract criticism of his team.

He was sacked by Real Madrid the next day.
