I haven't seen it yet, but every club in Scotland will be affected - either more costs for police/stewards or CCTV, and/or strict liability for incidents like this.

Looked like the guy reached for something from his back pocket before he struck him, at first I thought he was going for a knife. Not sure what is going on with some people these days, seems like every week there is something happening, and each incident is getting worse. Strict Liability should be introduced

The case for Strict Liability is unanswerable.

Yet the Football Authorities can't find anyone available for comment.

No excuse for the nutter who entered the field whatever his intent.

Please tell me what the point is of the guys in Hi-viz jackets at great expense who just stand around watching this happen?

Hibs will be the team who get hammered, the Scottish Football Association will no doubt say that this is the straw that breaks the camels back

A bit unfair, I think - the nearest steward was grabbing the nutter within 2-3 seconds. Unless you have a continuous wall of stewards someone determined to get onto the playing area will always be able to do so.

They are meant to be a deterrant but they shouldn't put themselves at risk. A determined nutter will get by them if he doesn't care about the consequences. They can be witnesses in court.

Leanne Dempster talking about shutting down the section or stand that the current bother had caused, seem to remember our club having a similar problem

That's awful. My son is 9 and doesn't like football so far, hopefully he continues to have no interest in it if this is way things are going.

I'll even sit and watch cricket with him if that's what it takes.

Why would Hibs fans be singing about Scott Browns sister ? That’s a Sevco song is it not ? It’s going to come to a point where fans have to sit an IQ test before purchasing tickets.

Isn't it utterly amazing that the Football Authorities can punish little Clyde severely for fielding an ineligible player?

Yet they have utter mayhem all around them and they are, seemingly ,dodging media interviews.

Either way, they are sitting on their hands.

This won't go away.

In the early 70s when I was training to be a teacher in Glasgow I was trained with gentlemen who were going to teach in State schools and Catholic schools. They knew that I was a Pars fan and not really interested in religion. The one thing that shocked me was the way that Celtic fans talked about Jock Stein, they called him the Masonic B*stard. I was shocked but apparently that's how these "professionals" thought about him.

That is absolutely shocking and I would hope a not widely held view of Celtic and the Pars greatest ever manager. I taught in a Catholic school for most of my career, so inevitably I had a lot of colleagues who were Celtic fans. I'm pleased to inform you that none of them ever betrayed anything but the greatest respect for Big Jock. Perhaps you were just unfortunate. Most morons are poorly educated but it's not an exclusive club, sadly. There are some absolutely cringeworthy and embarrassing idiots on both sides of the sectarian divide.

The fact that a 329 year old skirmish, in a remote corner of Ireland, still features prominently in their thinking, speaks volumes.

Not your average Sunday League player.
