The toughest test is on the horizon. Beat united and I think we will be in the play offs come the end of the season.

I’m going for a 2-1 win to the pars!

What’s your predictions?

I’m here to take over!!

It will be 0 0 at half time and we will win 1. 0, what a turn up for the form books that would be

Clark will be man-marked I’d imagine. Our luck does tend to run out against United, but now’a the time for that to change. Win and we should be targetting 2nd place. Unbelievable Jeff.

Always been the optimist and kept my hope for 4th but 3rd or even 2nd is way beyond expectation.
Over the last 6 games we gained 5 pts on Utd. Do the same again and we could finish 2nd. Thats a big ask though.

Head suggests United win this one, won 5 on the trot you start to think that a loss is just around the corner.

The other side of me thinks we'll win, Craw will have the added incentive to try and get one over on Neilson.

Inverness are at home to Ross County, who will be wanting to wrap up the title as soon as possible.

A massive opportunity here to make a little gap, and make Inverness against Alloa, their game in hand, a little less important.

I'll settle for a 1-0 Pars victory with zero entertainment and the goal being hotly disputed by the Arabs.

I think 1-1. We have ridden our luck at the back over the last 5 games and that can’t last. Even the best teams still concede and we’re far from the best team in this league.

We’re not playing that great and very defensive but with decent set piece delivery we look like scoring most games.

Just sitting here drenched in my own positivity! AJ is gone!

Football fans tend to get ahead of themselves when their team is on a good run. No game is a foregone conclusion. Let's just look to the next game and if we win it---good. But that doesn't mean we will win the next game or the one after that. Beating Dundee Utd just means we will have won one game not that we will finish second third or even fourth for that matter.

nothing about luck, we bottle it. Playoff game last year prime example, 2 on 1 in our favour and we made an @rse of it. 5mins later we are level and 5 mins later behind. Next we have Mvoto upfront.

We are currently a well organised, hardworking team that makes us hard to beat. We also have a goalscorer and some experienced championship players. The current management team also seem to have turned the players minds into a more positive frame. It's not silky soccer but it's effective and winning. I expect more of the same against utd. An enthralling tactical battle and a 1-0 win will do me fine.

It's daft talkin' about getting into contention for second and third when we probably have to beat Dundee United just to stay in contention for fourth.

After watching how they struggled against Inverness I would imagine that Crawford will get them to push hard from the start. As said try to play Clark out of the game and try not to tackle McMullan in the box. Hopefully the referee is aware of how easily he falls over.

Dundee United are hardly setting the heather alight just now, as I said in another thread, Neilson's coat is on a shoggly peg.
United are the penalty experts, so just make sure the tackling takes place outside the box.

Don't forget we beat Dundee Utd at Tannadice at the start of the season and then went on a long losing streak. I would say give every game our full effort and see where it takes us.

People talking about 2nd? The most likely scenario is we will finish 5th with Ayr clawing on to 4th and ICT take advantage off their GIH which I will be happy with given the shi!t show we’ve had at EEP for 8 months. Anything higher and it’s bonus.

Can you explain how that is the most likely scenario when we have the points in the bag and the better current form than anyone around us.

Are you confusing, "Most likely" with "what I think might happen"?

I can see Ayr's collapse continuing, so while Inverness might end up finishing above us, we could still end up in the play offs.

BBC weather forecasting a bit of sleet in morning (when 2 to 3 degree C) turning to heavy rain from 3 pm. Estimated temperature 4 degree C.

Not going freezing over night.

Perhaps not balmy but absolutely fine. Keep your excitement going....

Double checked with Met Office -- similar.

I sit near a united fan at work and trying to decide if I should just go full on here we go (6 in a row), or just play it cool, not mention it, pump his team on Saturday and then on Monday just act totally nonchalant like it was never in doubt?

The latter option is far more classy, DBP and eliminates any chance of ending up with egg on your face. ☺

Definitely option 2. Although we're in a great run of form and United aren't world beaters we've only won 2 in our last 20 against them!

Yeah but maybe we have exorcised the hoodoo when we gave them a hoodooin' last time we met. I think it has been a mental thing with us. We really should have cuffed them last season when we missed the 3 penalties. 1-0 will do.

I can't see us keeping a clean sheet again, and I would be happy with a draw to be honest.
But I'll be over the moon if we win and will happily take a 2-1 win.

I work with a United fan and he is not confident at all. He is avoiding the game altogether. He was also saying he thinks if we were to make the play offs we would beat them over the two legs. I'm not so confident, I would be happy with a draw.

I think you’re a bit confused... we’ve lost the last 2 games against them and the 3 penalties game was in 2016, not last season. McMullan missed a penalty against us earlier this season though, which was pleasing.

Aye par-91, I suppose tempis fugits a bit faster than we think. We beat them first time we played them this season and then went on a losing streak. If the 3 penalty miss was in 2016, my life must be whizzing past faster than I imagined. Faster than a weaver's shuttle, as one great man said.

I'm going to be boringly predictable and go for 1-0 Pars.

I've predicted 4 results correctly out of our last 5 games, (that Danny Devine coming up for corners v Partick, spoiled my 100% record) so why change a winning formula? :-)
