This time next week will be touching down in Astana ahead of the thursday night game.

Mcgregor announced his retirement (pushed or a FU to the SFA following recent discipline incident who knows)

Optimistic about most of the squad, midfield especially.
Our strike force really is dire though.

Should win both games without to many problems.

Strike force will be 3 midfielders Burke upfront with Fraser and Forrest either side. No "Official" Forwards required

Wouldn’t worry about the striker position tbf. As long as Forrest and Fraser are influential, and whoever plays as the striker can hold up the ball, we should be fine. Burke up front with Fraser and Forrest playing outside him.

Bain

Robertson
Bates
McKenna
Tierney

McGinn
Armstrong
McTominay

Forrest
Fraser

Burke

For me.

Fraser wont play due to the artificial surface apparently.

Bain

Tierney
Bates
McKenna
Mulgrew

McGinn

Robertson
Armstrong
Mcgregor
Forrest

Burke

It's all went quiet on Che Adams from Birmingham being called up, on fire just now in championship. Would also have a shot at getting Angus Gunn as well for number one spot.
McGregor decision makes sense, but it's a loss and makes the goalie spot pretty weak compared to this time last year.

Has Phil Bardsley retired from international football ? Still playing in the Premiership and would surely be better than playing Tierney out of position just to accommodate him the side.

Think its pretty clear to me Cooper isn't interested in the slightest in playing for us. Surely he would have even been given a friendly for a run out with our defensive frailty 1-2 years ago? Need one of the keepers to step up with the loss of Allan and we seriously need to unearth a quality striker/right back but apart from that I'm really happy with the team just now

The game in Astana is the sort of game we regularly make an Erse of and have heard a few folk saying we just need to pitch up for a guaranteed win despite decades of evidence to the contrary.

On the bright side it’s currently looking like a balmy -4 when I get there which beats the -17 this weekend

Agreed. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a dig at the SFA for his recent suspension.

Don’t know what liam Lindsay needs to do to get a call up , has been brilliant again this season and recently linked with Leeds and villa, only thing I can think of is he plays in English league 1..

McFadden says him and his club are "managing an injury" so can only presume he can't play on plastic. Nothing sinister.

He was in the team a few years ago ... but he is a much much better player now. You seriously happy with the squad ... he's picking players, two of them, who won't even travel because of the artificial pitch, but they're still in the squad ... McLeish couldn't pick a team to win Highland League :(

What players won't travel? I see mcleish mentioned 2 won't play due to the plastic pitch but nothing about not travelling with the sqaud

Seen that players will remain on UK time whilst they are away.

Seems a good squad to me. Keepers are questionable but Bain seems to have been solid for Celtic. Centre backs could be a good pairing of Bates and McKenna but probably be Mulgrew and another. Full backs speak for themselves. Wingers are all pacey tricky types that full back hate. Central midfield solid and all at a decent level now. Strikers McBurnnie and McNulty both playing well and scoring just now. Not sure what else Eck can do wit the squad. This is the future so folk better get used to it, apart from a couple of older guys most will be around for the next few campaigns.
