 CL and EL Draws
Topic Originator: GG Riva
Date:   Fri 15 Mar 07:42

Six English clubs and ten Johnny Foreigner EU clubs, will find out who their next opponents are, from 11 am today. It will be interesting to see if the 4 clubs in the CL manage to avoid each other - chances are at least two will meet.

Arsenal and Chelsea are unlikely to field weakened sides now as they may not make the top 4 in the Premiership and the EL can give them a wild card entry into next season's CL. If both make the EL final and finish outside the top 4, it should be some game.

All you need to know (and some you don't) from the BBC website:-

Not that it means anything but I understand the practice draw had:

Manchester United v Tottenham
Liverpool v Ajax
Barcelona v Manchester City

Hoping that Utd get Porto or Ajax. Would like City to get Liverpool.

Turn on, Tune in, Drop out.

"Johnny Foreigner"

That's a 'quaint' old fashioned term to use. Almost colonial sounding.

Some Scottish people might think that the English fall into that category lol.

Why on earth do they need a "practice draw"? They practise it every year and several times a year, too.

Just in case they get someone like Rod Stewart who can't carry out the simplest of tasks.

Did they just say Casillas had played 186 Champions League games?

Pretty nuts if he has.

Ajax v Juventus
Liverpool v Porto
Spurs v City
Man U v Barca

The semi-final pairings are to be decided this morning, too. Can't see them yet.

Amazing how they managed to keep the four favourites apart, eh?

Casillas has 500+ games for Real Madrid and over a hundred now for Porto, so not unreasonable to be that high.

Even taking that into consideration PFM I still think that's a staggering amount. Some career he's had.

Juve to win with big Rapey to lift the trophy.
Man Scum vs Barca should be a cracker . City v Barca final would be sexual chocolate.
