 Atletico Madrid...

... are finding it hard to come to terms with their 2-3 aggregate loss to Juventus, after going to Turin with a solid 2-0 first leg lead.

They want Cristiano Ronaldo banned for an offensive ''cojones'' gesture he made to Atletico fans - the same gesture Diego Simeone made in the first leg, but that was OK, apparently, because he made it to his own supporters.

The also felt the tie-winning penalty was a dive and they have challenged the goal line technology used to validate Ronaldo's second goal, claiming the graphics show that the goal line was thinned, the ball made smaller and its parameters were altered to produce a previously non-existent gap.

A pity they showed no ambition to carve out an away goal which would have put the tie beyond CR7 and Co.

The idea of dodgy officiating at a Juventus match is preposterous.

😂🤣😂 True, TOWK, but blaming the VAR graphics is taking things to a new level.

Never had much of a sympathy for Atletico after their cynical thuggery in Glasgow 1974.

Poetic justice when Schwarzenbeck equalised with a minute to go of extra in the final, then Bayern humped them 4-0 in the replay.

Nothing much wrong with your long term memory, VEE. Atletico played a few hatchet men in their semi-final at Celtic Park, booted 7 bells out of Jinky and Co, finished with 9 men after 2 very late red cards by a feckless Turkish referee, but happy with their 0-0 draw. A demoralised Celtic lost 2-0 in the return.

It so nearly paid off for them. Ironically, they were just as close to lifting Old Big Ears when they next appeared in the final against their city neighbours, eventually losing 4-1 aet.
