 Next Season
Topic Originator: PARrot

I was chewing this over with Crackers last night and we recon the priorities are;

On the perch with keeping the current management.

Sign some really good players.

Score lots of goals.

Win more points than anyone else.

We honestly believe that if we can pull that lot off, the fans will be happy and we should have a good chance of promotion.

Where are we going to get the money for all these wholesale changes certain people are clamouring for?

Given about theee quarters of the current squad will be away I think it’s fairly obvious where the funds will come from.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 2 that we should resign should be Craigen n L.longridge, that leaves us with 9 players on the books. Plenty room for new players.

How can you possibly advocate Louis Longridge staying for one second beyond what we have currently agreed.

The only way I want him to be anywhere Near East end park is if he’s dropping his brother off and not stopping. Another joke of a player about as much use as a chocolate ashtray.

Keep (definitely)

Scully
Ashcroft
J Longridge
Beadling
Craigen
Thomson
Blair & Anderson ( if possible )
Todd
McCann

Keep maybe, as possibly deserve another season

Murdoch/Gill/Robinson (keep one)
Williamson
Martin
L Longridge
Ryan

Go

Higgy
Vincent
Fais
Muirhead
Durnan
Connolly

No choice but to keep unless someone wants to buy..and no one will..but please go

Devine
Hippolyte
Smith

Problem as well is im saying keep Blair, Craigen, Thomson and Beadling, which means no new central midfielders can be brought in, except Todd
Not much creativity in there, so unless Craigen becomes permanent fullback, we need to lose at least one to get someone in to offer something different

Keep

Scully - don't think he's done much wrong,
and made some great saves, I rate him better than Robinson. A fully fit Murdoch would be my preference though.

Ashcroft - really swithering but think he might be worth keeping one more year and give him another shot, hes had a poor season but done well previously.

J Longridge - decent player probably regretting joining us, hes on a 2yr deal anyway so he's sticking around. One bit of good business from AJ.

Beadling - not sure what position he plays best in but with different people around him he could really do well for us.

Craigen - for his flexibility, can play a number of roles.

Devine - 2yr deal so with him, hopefully warming the bench up.

Hippolyte - another bench warmer.

Smith - not through choice.

L Longridge - many will disagree, he has the right attitude, puts the effort in and can change a game, just not consistent, I wouldnt be against him staying.

GO

Higgy - used to be a player who was either fantastic or rotten, sadly hes become consistently the latter, time to go.

Vincent - crikey that Falkirk game alone is enough justification, brutal.

Faissal- not good enough, even with how poor we've been you'd expect more goals.

Muirhead - don't think the right attitudes there.

Connolly - not cut out for this level

Blair - a shame that the one player we find that can take a set piece is rubbish at everything else.

Williamson - if I've heard correctly turned down a 1yr extension already so he may be leaving voluntarily.

Debatable

Thomson - is he on two year deal? Hows he going to be after his injury?

Durnan - many will disagree with me but I thought he had a few decent games, maybe I'm blinkered with how poor Devine is. Realistically though think he'll see the nearest exit.

Pep and Klopp fall in love with the Pars and loan us lots of their top players.

And they invite Craw & Co to a summer management school which results in Craw getting MOM every month of the season.

Pars fans unite and win the Nobel Peace prize for the happiest football fans.

(Come on folks - we're experts at heavy-hearted seriousness. Let's show we can do light-hearted nonsense and say "Ya boo sucks" tae adversity!)

Couldn’t disagree with that Berry al though I would keep Williamson. What is Lewis Martin doing these days?

We need a couple of hardy players in midfield who are there just to win the ball and pass it on to others who should be more creative. Not many games this season where we have not been bullied so that must be addressed, could be just good journeyman from any of the league's and know their jobs. A good rightback also required if Martin can't stay fit plus 2 reasonably decent wingers and maybe a big strong striker, simples!.

Nice spellin'!

Speakin' of therapy,

Here's a good game to distract ourselves from our potentially unhappy favourite subject.

I googled 'What's the opposite of football?'

Response: "There are no categorical antonyms for this word."

Well it's high time there were!

My efforts:

1. An exploding rat.

2. George V before he had a beard.

3. This guy:

Feel free to join in.

On the subject of spelling.
Thufferringgg thucckatashhhh
Should never be spelled the same way twice. It is wholly dependent on the level of emotion, frustration or disbelief on the occasion of each utterance.

A bit like wwwwwwwooooooommmmmmbbbbbbbbb!
Which only a midwife would concider relates to the female anatomy.

It is of course the sound a hippo makes when it farts under water.

Yes the study of animal and human sounds is fascinating. For example,

"Ooooaaaahwowwowwowooooowey!" is clearly an expression of pleasure - occasionally heard at EEP in response to extreme stimulation of the taste buds by a bridie but more commonly (and loudly) when somebody only just makes it to the lavvy in time.

Now to continue with our series on the general theory of irrelativity

"Hand square"- I've just got it.

To recap:What's the opposite of football? The world doesn't have a categorical antonym for it. Therefore the world is in desperate need of such. Otherwise, when someone says 'This is not football', what do they mean?
Our best answers so far:

1. Hand square
2. Head spiral
3. Rugby
4. An exploding rat (or for vegans, exploding vegan sausage.)

Any more before the all-important vote?

PS. It might help you to decide which is the most accurate if you say 'This is not football, it's...' and try each suggested answer in turn, to see which one sounds right to you.

<<< Shyte would win.>>>

I think that's already down as the opposite of "etyhs".

Which means the opposite of football is really "llabtoof."

(I know the quality is slipping but I've got to keep going to get ahead of the "Nightmare scenario" thread: currently 4835 v 4897 - we're almost neck and neck. If we don't get ahead and stay ahead, it could be an omen!)
