The languid stroll to the corner flag, the careful placing of the ball half an inch outside the wee quarter circle (oh you sneaky devil), the pleasing delay for everyone to get into position to mark or be be marked, the raising of one arm, two arms, no arms, that conveyed a secret signal to who knows who and and meant nowt to anyone on or off the pitch...

Haha! Indeed so true.

It's right up there with the old AJ favourite, which was: only the wingbacks take throw-ins. Again, there was nothing better than the pleasing delay that calmed the players down when the attacking intensity of the game was getting too much to handle.
