Full back recently let go by St Johnstone. Apparently we are interested. Anyone know anything about the 22 year old?

"just" 50 senior appearances. Doesnt seem a lot for his age.

The only intel I have on him is that he got absolutely destroyed by Jordan Jones on the opening day of the season.

Might be alright at this level, but I think Lewis Martin deserves a chance at right-back.

Happy with this addition. Led to believe we beat off some competition to land him too.

A few Saints fans I know have said they were wanting him to get more of a chance in their team this season so he’s obviously got something about him.

Very much like how we’ve structured the contract and would like to hope a number of our contracts will be done like that.

Rather than get stuck with poor players on 2 year deals a la Hippolyte and Devine, we get to review things at the end of the season, if he’s any good, he stays, if not he’s off.

We love Dunfermline We do!

Another one with a Peterhead connection; are we going for Rory McAllister next?

He has no intention of leaving part time football, especially at 32. Has a very secure living as a plumber.

Parsloyal I hope your not suggesting there were some sexual favours thrown in to get the deal done?

Given our frugal budget a meeting over coffee in Greggs might have been a better idea. 😉

Just as well we have professional people looking after our signings rather than Elvis lives who wants to use Greggs.

Excellent! A proper right back. Know nothing about him but lets hope he's fills a position that has been as issue for us in recent seasons.

I'm pleased to see us doing our business early, shows some intent. Bet SC and the Board were keen to get a few in the door ahead of the supporters council meeting tomorrow.

Pasrloyale98 - I see what your saying about the contract term but it can also bite us in the ar5se as well, on the positive if it doesn't work we can ship them out end of the season, however if they do really well they get picked off for nothing by (so called) bigger (if not richer) clubs. I refer you to the likes of Morris, McManus, Aird etc from last summer. I don't like 1 year contracts but understand it's a necessary means given the financial state of our game, I just dislike the fact it turns clubs at our level into revolving doors meaning almost entirely new squads every single season, no consistency and worse still when we have good players we lose them for nothing, meaning we have no means to reverse the cycle and become a profitable club that can attract and keep good players on long term contracts. Sad times!

Probably not wise to perform the aforementioned sexual favours in public.

How do you know he's a "proper right back" if you know nothing about him?

He got absolutely slaughtered in the Premiership and St. Johnstone fans don't rate him at all, but can only judge when we see him in a Pars shirt.

"He got absolutely slaughtered in the Premiership and St. Johnstone fans don't rate him at all"

Absolutely slaughtered in the Premiership, aye? That will be the long run of, erm, one game he played at that level? Against one of the best wingers in the league who has subsequently signed for Rangers? In a 5-3-2 system when they'd been playing with 4 at the back in the BetFred games? Slaughtered? Get a grip. As to the second comment, the few Saints fans I know reckon he has potential but never really got a chance to recover after being hung out to dry by Wright and will probably do a job at our level. If you're going to make stuff up then try it without the hyperbole.

Don't take the p***. He's played 15 games at Premiership level which is certainly more than Ryan Williamson has. He'll be absolutely fine.

I suspect the coaching staff will be taking people with potential with a view to developing them. We are not going to get any ready made premiership players lets face it. Everyone can improve if there is a willingness to do so.

Bosman caused some chaos and made quite a few multi-millionaires and lots of poor clubs with his court case.

Bosman changed everything. Overall a good thing for players but an absolute disaster for clubs.

Spoke to a St Johnstone fan today who rated Comrie very highly. He said he kept Foster our the team for a while and eventually forced him into midfield, as he was playing that well. He can’t understand why he fell out of the team. Jordan Jones maybe tore him to bits but he is a far better player than anyone at this level. Jones is a nightmare for most full backs - Celtic and Rangers included.

Hopefully he can do the job here. We’ve been desperate for a natural right back who can defend for some time now!
