Why would he slip through the net? We haven’t got a vacancy for a manager

If he wants to work with board/chairman dictating who he cant and cant play etc then in the right place.

Experience on a shoe-string budget and make them a stronger proposition than they were this season.

I said last year when AJ left he was the man for our job. This is a great appointment for Morton and obviously not costing a fortune.

Disappointed we can’t attract a manager like him.

"If he wants to work with board/chairman dictating who he cant and cant play etc then in the right place."

To be fair to their board, I can see why they'd ask Johansson and Hoiston not to select Telfer for a meaningless game given that it would trigger a contract extension especially since it was reported he was one of their highest earners and they were likely to be changing manager in the summer so he may not have been in the new gaffer's plans. It's not like the chairman was in the dressing room picking the team or anything.

theres more than just that one example kelty if rumours are to be believed.

the support on here for him, personally I wouldn't want him near the job here.

Makes Morton a real contender. AJ at QOS makes them contenders, Thistle strengthening makes them more of a force.... will be an interesting season!!!

Don't see how if he wasn't capable of making us contenders.

A manager that plays attacking football with wingers, inheriting a squad with the best striker in the league? Nah, can’t see them competing at all... he had us challenging for promotion with Nicky Clark and Declan McManus up front, imagine what he can do with Dobbie.

He also, replaced Clark and McManus with Faisal and Hippo, And Morris with Devine. Lyndon Dykes is away in the summer and to be fair the AJ's last 2 summer transfer windows have been nothing short of horrific.

Didn't AJ recruit Morris, McManus and Aird two years ago? Unfortunately we were priced out of the market for them last year.

^^ a phrase he will get used to again at Queens, Hopkin the same at Morton with both clubs previously talking about reduced budgets.

Nope. Other than trying 3-5-2 with wing backs early on, Johnston stuck with his 4-4-2. Trying to play attacking football, with wingers. As I say, he’s now inherited the best striker in the league and AJ’s style of play will suit Dobbie.

Only we didn't have one winger capable of beating a man and putting a cross in. And Dobbie will not repeat his score tally this season. QoTS were in the bottom 2 remember so worse than us despite Dobbie scoring more than our whole team put together. Your faith in Johnston is remarkable.
