If you are considering your first guess for the month of May; it may help that at this date in 2017 the Club had sold 1148.

In 2018 the figure had increased to 1302.

The club will soon start updating us.

Parsbilly: In 2017 and 2018 The club, kindly, gave precise updates every fortnight regarding the Season Ticket sales.

This is rather different from announcing that the figure is "around 900".

Exactly one year ago we were at 1302 and it would have been interesting to be able to compare and contrast.

I have said many times that the help and courtesy I receive from David Laming is second to none.He is a huge asset to the club.

Anyway ,I have now asked the Supporters Liason Officers so we may know soon.

In all seriousness this close season will be the hardest the club has faced since returning to the Championship, I think even the optimists will be expecting a drop in season ticket sales.
I’ve no idea of the number but even “non fans” who pick and choose the odd game have secured their kid a free season ticket but this season the £18 might put that group off. If we can get anywhere near the figure of last season it’ll be an incredible effort.

I actually think it's underestimated how much we miss Mikey Mlotkiewicz at the club, he did a lot of good work on the social media and advertising side of things and probably played a part in the good levels of ST sales. Do we have a general manager at the club now?

For the first time in years I won't be renewing my season ticket through the 'early bird', planning on waiting to see what happens in the close season before deciding to renew or just PATG.

There's numerous people I know taking the same approach, so it's encouraging that the sales are still healthy to date.

A few encouraging signings and we could still equal or exceed last year's figure.

These figures are very encouraging ,given there are no longer freebies which skewed the figure.

I know so many older Supporters who are biding their time after the ghastly experience of the last 8 matches, and who are talking of only attending the box office games eg Dundee and Dundee Utd.

I have got mine though.

I took up the early bird offer after the hearing from Ross, Stevie & Greig explaining a) the dire need for cash right now and b) the attitude and the fresh approach to getting the neg players out and bringing in only enthusiastic committed players.

Got to say that the early signings look like just that!

I for one can't wait to see this growing new squad play and develop, without so many unrealistic expectations compared to last year.

I know a lot of people are saying that they will not renew for various reasons, crap season last year, chairman etc. But looking at the figures it appears that sales are quite healthy and I think a couple more good signings we could get near last years total.
I have renewed mine although I had second thoughts at the end of last season, but that is forgotten now and on with next season!

Haha, this could’ve been written by me! Exactly the same here, I was totally and utterly scunnered last season but renewed my season ticket last week. I’m going to spend the close season trying to memorise the names of all the new players.....

On a more serious note it shows, yet again, that the doom masters among the .net fraternity do not (& I strongly suspect never have) reflected the thought of the majority of our support. Thankfully!

All the more surprising as there are no freebies skewing the figure.

Despite a few people grumping and groaning about the price increases etc the really healthy thing is the sales are holding up well and are actually up on last year at the same time

Pars fans are really superb at getting behind the team when needed! Aye the last season was murder to watch but the new season promises to be an exciting new beginning for the club.

I’m really looking forward to seeing a young hungry team on the park, let’s hope our fans exercise a bit of patience and understanding as it might be a bit of a rollercoaster season with young players learning how to step up to playing first team football

pleasantly surprised with the amount sold so far considering a terrible season all in and a very poor end

good to see there's a real world outside of the doom and gloomers on here

numbers could potentially be skewed with people taking more advantage of the early bird to avoid more of a price hike but hopefully it will kick start others and we get near last years total and back the board in what is a very commendable rebuilding approach IMO

That’s great if true because we could never have foreseen that after last season ended. I’m really excited about these new signings, although I don’t know any of them and it could all go horribly wrong like it did for Falkirk, but the fact that some have been on trial, and others obviously scouted for quite some time gives me a lot to be positive about. Thinking back to a few years ago,we made 4 great signings in Falkingham, Geggan, Wallace and Whittle who came from the likes of Arbroath, East Fife and an academy, so hopefully these signings produce similar results on the field.

At first sight there is disappointment that the figure is 17% less than a year ago.

However, folk repeatedly pointed out, last season, that about 500 Seasons were free ones given to kids ,and that some of those kids had never darkened our door!

This year all Seasons cost money.

With the Open Day imminent ,there will be a spike.David, in the Club shop, is noticing a number of new faces buying Seasons ,which is encouraging.

It does rather reinforce the point I made ,at the Supporters' Council Meeting, ie a few fans ,Predictably, are biding their time to see how we start in the League. The memory of our last eight wretched games remains only too raw.

Football fans are fickle, Pars fans no worse or better than other fans.

If the team are doing well/ better that expected then walk up fans on a match day will increase and offset lower season ticket sales.

If we are not doing well/worse than expected then obviously walk up fan numbers on a match day will drop and with lower season ticket sales this year compared to last, then we could be looking at a good few years in the doldrums I am afraid.

Hopefully we see some entertaining football though and compared to last season that should not be too difficult.

Picking up 2 this Sunday. After initial fear about what next season may bring, I've been feeling really enthusiastic about it now. I have no real expectations, just want to watch the group of young players putting in the effort and trying to play football the right way.

Last year I had 4 season tickets and only paid for 1. This year I only have 3 but have paid for them all. I'm pretty sure loads of people got a spare free under 12 and wont bother this year. Certainly everyone I know with kids got extras for pals etc.

Surely the only relevant stat is how much you shell out in total, DD? I get that you've spent more this season, but £1 a game for a child is an absolute bargain, I'm sure you'll agree. Remember too, that the club has done this reluctantly, to combat dishonesty, rather than a scheme to make more money. The actual profit on an £18 ST will be negligible.

I would hope those who took up the free STs last season are not put off by the nominal charge this time round. Today's kids are tomorrow's fans. It would be great to see local youngsters ending up at EEP on a Saturday, rather than heading off to Ibrox or Parkhead.

Not your average Sunday League player.

Attracting kids guarantees the club's future.

8800 houses are being built in the Dunfermline Western expansion. In a decade the City of Dunfermline will exceed 100,000 and many of those newcomers come from the Lothians.

The club's links to the schools have been very successful in attracting kids from DEX and that must continue.

With 1 point from the last 24 ,and the narrow escape from relegation,it is hardly surprising that so many older fans are biding their time to see how the new season starts.Seasons sales are currently down 17% ,though income is not.

I take with a pinch of salt the laudable comments that we should be patient with our young hungry kids.If experienced teams hammer us,that ambition will soon crumble.
