Craw isn't f*cking about. Business getting done nice and early. Refreshing to see after AJ's long, drawn out recruitment over the last couple of seasons.

Here's to the first of the day, fellas! To old D.H. Lawrence.

While I hope he’s good and brings some excitement and much needed pace to the team I’m not a fan of those types of videos.

You could prob just about put a 2 minute video together showing when some of the dross we had out last season did something decent ie completed a pass or tackle it doesn’t mean they were anywhere near good enough overall.

But it’s good he’s been up here for a week for the guys to have a proper look at him and they must fancy him. McNamara will be setting up an academy down pitreavie!

Just sitting here drenched in my own negativity!

Challenging Dow for the left wing role then? Right footed so loves cutting in like a certain fans favourite

Did Dow not play mostly right wing? I think he's capable of both, but Coley certainly likes the left by the sound of it. Probably need one more midfielder then that's us pretty much set for the start of the season, most clubs in the division aren't even close to finishing their business I don't think

A couple of pacey, tricky, wingers would do the business for us. In past years that was a Pars trademark. Hope this guy is in that mould.

I'm quite relieved that red-star-par's comment at 17:23 yesterday is the only piscatorial reference as we're usually subjected to lots of fishy metaphors in these cases.

You've got to commend the management team and the board for landing him though.

I suppose we won't know that for sure until we see him play, Raymie, but there seem to be one or two on here who imply that any Jackie Mac influence is a malignant one which is strange.

These don’t appear to be signings made on a whim or overnight.
It does appear that we have done our homework well in advance , so that’s encouraging and hopefully means these crop of new signings will prove to be a success?

I hope so but you can never be sure. We've signed a few with no experience of the Championship. It'll be interesting to see how Craw's first-choice XI emerges.

There are a number of football agencies today that, in addition to representing players, offer in-depth scouting analysis services and contribute, as part of a global alliance of agents, to a database on players worldwide. They use highly detailed and sophisticated metrics on players as young as 9 through to players in their high 30s.

I would not at all be surprised if this is the sort of assistance that Jackie Mac is providing the club rather than just offering players off his agency's books. It could turn out to be a genius arrangement for the Pars.

As happens to most clubs at our level, some signings will do well and some will do poorly. If 50-60+ percent of new signings are consistently doing well with the number of changes we've made then it'll have been a good season. Apart from loans who actually did well for us last year? Jackson Longridge, Joe Thomson, anyone else? In terms of the new guys that were poor; Devine, Durnan, Connolly, Louis Longridge, Hippolyte, Beadling was meh, Muirhead was awful, that's not a great ratio. I'm glad we've done most of our business early, it gives us the opportunity to gel and for SC to get his ideology across so the players and staff are on the same page. Last year you got a certain feeling of desperation from AJ in who he signed and the systems we used. It really meant we struggled for form

I hope we have better luck with injuries this season, assuming it was bad luck that contributed to so many last season. Many of the new signings had injuries which interrupted their seasons and must have made it difficult for them to achieve any level of consistency.

I don't think you can change your opinion based on the signings just yet. I've never personally heard of half of them and they are very young. Could work put very well, could end up a disaster, what makes next season very interesting.

At least he is getting who he wants in early.

Seems like quite a few of the signings have been in the pipeline for quite a while maybe suggesting that the unrest and trouble in the dressing room gossip was probably true and Stevie maybe knew that he would have to get rid of most of the squad. Of coarse the players would know this themselves well before the end of the season, so would be saving themselves for their next move. Just my thoughts.

I think that part of the problem last season was that AJ had been roundly criticised for having no 'Plan B'. He then lost a lot of the players he would have hoped to keep, so had a very small window to bring in quite a number of players to fit into a new system.

That all then unravelled quite quickly, resulting in everyone becoming confused, devoid of confidence and a general lack of unity between management, players and fans.

SC now appears to be putting a definitive marker down on the kind of player he wants. Whether this scenario was planned when he got the gig, or is a result of our financial situation is unclear, but i like the thought of a young, hungry Pars team, with a few older heads mixed in.

Stevie and Greg seem to have a plan, and it is broadly in line with what the fans want.

After last season, I'm sure most Pars fans will just want to see some entertaining football next season, and take what comes with it.

I think if you are on a 1 year contract and team perfprmance is poor, it pretty clear a renewed contract would be under the microscope. I would imagine the players would be under no illusions about that. The nature of contract work is that you are only ever as good as your last contract. At the end of the day players have to support their families and will go where they can get the best deal.
