 Friendly/BetFred cup prices
Topic Originator: par-91

Has there been any announcement on prices for the friendlies (particularly home v Hibs) yet?

Also not seen anything about the league cup prices. A lot of other groups seem to have announced £12 entry for all games, but haven’t seen anything about our group at all. Will Edinburgh City be all ticket? Not sure about the capacity of the stadium.

Not seen any prices - but the game against Edinburgh City shouldn't be all ticket. The ground has a capacity of over 3000. There will be limited access to the stand - it only holds about 500 and will be open to both sets of supporters.

Just seen it’s £15 for the Hibs friendly. Seems awful steep. Personally, I won’t be going to a friendly at that price.

Seen quite a few clubs advertising that all league cup games in their groups are £12, cant believe we’re charging more than that for a friendly.

I was looking forward to Hibs game but if that is the price they can ram it.

£15 for a friendly? On top of increased normal prices (bringing us in line with others I know) or increased season tickets.

Fans are being seen as a bottomless pit of cash.

Friendlies are turgid to watch, don't think I've been to one in years.
£15 is an absolute rip off regardless of the opponent.

Awight Pat!

Looks like the club is out to make as much money as possible this year. Is it £15 for the League Cup also and I would imagine the shirts will be a bit more expensive. But although the prices will put a few off they are proabily gambling that they will make more money despite the lower crowd, after all most football fans are mugs and will pay extra to watch the club they love. Dunfermline Athletic a club run by fans for the fans!

I would imagine that Hibs asked for a fee for the match and prices based on that.
Can't assume same prices for league cup.

Fairly obviously aimed at the Green and White pound.

Personally I hope that the Bridge is jammed with Hibees heading to East End Park on a lovely Saturday afternoon, and they all return to Edinburgh morose.......

Yeah, I won't be at the Hibs game at that price. I probably would have gone if it was a tenner.

No danger I’ll be giving them £15 for a friendly. Hope hibs bring a massive crowd though.

It is too expensive. £10 would have been fine, why not also throw in a voucher for 25% or a fiver off the first league game? I think we can be a bit more proactive and imaginative in attracting people to games, simply matching the prices of everyone else is not going to cut it.

Maybe we still end up getting a few extra quid if enough Hibees come but is it really worth it irritating our own fans and missing opportunities to attract new supporters.

Nice start for our young team to have a very low home support for their first game at east end.

And a nice reward for a support who suffered through an utterly miserable season last year many of whom I am sure will have questioned whether they want to come back this year.

I would have thought after last year the Board would be looking to do as much as possible to get the fans bang on side right from the off.

Compare it to Forfar tomorrow - i’m sure they’re expecting a healthy visiting support but they’ve kept the prices low and made season tickets valid for their own supporters.

BetFred Cup at that price against PL opposition in Hibs.. I could stretch to it being acceptable, to pay £15 for a friendly is just wrong.

An own goal before the seasons even started.

Although £15 is a bit steep for a friendly, the club could be looking for a bumper crowd as a the catalyst to the next signing.

Its a hard life...

Increasing the prices (compared to previous games) is not a way to attract fans to a meaningless game.

Last time I saw a Hibs v Pars friendly, they kicked lumps out of us, typical Lennon mentality. As for £15 to see a friendly, nah.

Never steal; the govermnent hates competition

Yes of course they do.
They will want a fee for playing.
