So do we try to organise a replacement game, to let Stevie do want he planned to do in preparations, or do we just work toward our friendly against Hibs and hope 2 games is enough prep for season to come?

Tricky!

I think it's due to the amount of players Dumbarton have signed

Can’t we just lend them a couple of fringe players from our squad, worked well at school? Backie goalies perhaps?

The suggestion by Granthamspar may not be so daft after all.

Bob Crampsey in "The Scottish Football League :The First Hundred Years" pointed out that,in the years before the SWW,it was not uncommon for Dunfermline Athletic to arrive at a ground in the West of Scotland a couple of players short. The Opposition would let the Pars borrow a couple of fringe players!

Furthermore, there is a record of Dunfermline conceding a game long before a match was over, if the score line was hopeless ,and an earlier train back could be taken.

I wonder if the official game will be cancelled but we still have a closed doors bounce game where we give them a few of our younger players?

Noticed last night on that Stv channel that started last year (can't recall it's name) a nice piece on the PARS but they obviously hadn't been told the game was off as they mentioned the game.

Does anyone know how the club is compensating for this lost fixture? Having a bounce game amongst yourselves isn't the same as playing another team, even if it is a friendly, and it was seen as an important factor in the conditioning of the players.

"a closed door friendly was played last evening"

I'd heard it was just a game between two teams of Pars players, PuP?

If Dumbarton fans are to be believed, he only has himself to blame. Offered players reduced terms to stay with them by text and most of them told him to bolt.

Yet some on here want Jim Duffy as out manager? Absolute dinosaur who’s disrespect in cancelling this friendly is there for all to see.

Poor show from an experienced manager.

Surely he knew they were struggling for numbers, yet cancelled the day before the game.

Here's to the first of the day, fellas! To old D.H. Lawrence.

Ach who knows... Maybe he expected a few players to sign deals that week and they didn't so he had no option but to cancel the game.
We're not privvy to what's going on at other clubs... Apart from the folk that say they are ITK of course.
Watch out for them.... They're everywhere 🤣
