 Our Transparent Board.
Topic Originator: Sliema Par

The watchword of the Dunfermline Board is transparency. That has been very commendable since 2013.

I have never known a more approachable Board since I was lifted over the turnstile in my short trousers in 1962.

Against that backdrop, why are you silent over the blatantly prohibitive League Cup Prices?Summer is the time of year to attract Families who do not usually attend. We also get some holiday makers. There are some influenced by the exciting World Cup.These are not box office games.

Did Albion Rovers and East Kilbride demand these prices?

Was the club in no position to refuse the BBC "Championship Sportscene" cameras v Dundee, which will considerably reduce our club income?

Can the Support be given some idea of the extent of the losses ,as the price rises will affect the attendance of those in the 60-64 age group?Sales of Seasons are noticeably down ,regrettably.

We are constantly being told we are all in it together. Are we?

That's an easy one. No we weren't.

Are sales of season tickets really down?
How many of the free U12 tickets have not been renewed.
I have a feeling a large percentage of the "reduction" in season ticket sales will be from these tickets.

Also do the team we are playing not have to agree on a price reduction in cup games?
Could it be that our opponents don't want to miss out on what is a fairly significant payday for them?

Firstly the clubs have no say on when their team is picked for live tv.
The league cup prices are a little disappointing as other teams in the competition have went for the £12 and £6 bracket but they will have their reasons and i trust their decision making.

The key question in the op is how much debt we are in.We were told “significant” but how much £££?

Sliema, I think you were there at the last Meet the Manager night where Ross gave a report and then you would know the answer to the issues relating to TV coverage.

Sliema are you intent on constantly raising the issue of the 60-64 season ticket pricing
Your questions have been answered on numerous occasions already

The answers obviously were not what you wanted to hear so you are picking the ball up and running with it again, do you not realise that your campaign against the 60-64 year old pricing is putting people off renewing their season tickets and therefore harming the club

Perhaps the club are realising that 60-64 year olds are the most affluent people in todays society and as such why should they qualify for a reduction in season ticket prices?

Give it up man, broken record comes to mind

1) If Albion Rovers or East Kilbride demanded those prices then the Board is well able to confirm that.Otherwise the prices are inexplicable.

2) I think, at a previous Supporters' Council Meeting ,Ross was referring to BBC Alba and the Irn Bru Cup when he said that we could refuse the TV cameras once.

3) Ross gave a perfectly adequate response to my query regarding the increase in admission prices for those aged 60-64 ,which I submitted on behalf of others.I just fear that the increase may affect their willingness to attend or they may cherry pick games.

4) Yes Season Ticket sales are down but ,as others have said, the chances are income remains the same. The club has been overly generous in the freebies in recent years.(Which they were with those aged 60-64 too,to be fair.)

You think people are being put off renewing a season ticket because of a post on here? Away and nilecyer heid min
People are being put off because quite frankly the price structure this year is terrible.

There seems to be a basic misunderstanding of the difference between making a loss and being in debt. This is how baseless rumours start.

Anyway, since then we've received cash for Jackson Longridge and been able to use some of it ti finance transfers, so presumably the financial situation isn't as dire as some seem to think.

Kelty par: You have cleared up the point that the club could not refuse the televising of the Dundee game.

How many of our games can be televised in a season?

Can we infer they will cherry pick our next Home match with Dundee United?

Given these are matches which attract 6500 plus, and are making up for the loss of derbies with Raith Rovers and Falkirk; the loss of club income could be considerable.

You were at the same fans forum as I. This was all answered.

Up to 4 of our home games can be covered.

They will definitely cherry pick the best games for TV, club has no choice.

I agree the pricing for the friendly and league cup games are steep, but it doesn’t faze me as much as it has some others. Why not ring Ross at the club and ask why?

Thanks mate. I saw we'd made a loss too but thought I'd missed something else about going into debt.

Dover - The loss was covered by the fact the board had maintained a sensible cash buffer at the bank. A loss is never good but it was manageable last season.

rossmcno1: The whole point of the thread is to invite the Board to explain their thinking behind prices which,on the face of it,are inexplicable.

There are now scores of concerned fans on different threads courteously demanding a response.

We are a fan owned club with a transparent Board.

It is hardly too much to ask.

I totally understand what you’re trying to do. I completely disagree with the way you’re doing it. You’ve spoke to the man before, why not do so again? I just don’t see the point in putting it in a post on a fans forum to garner support behind your point, to try and force a response. Why not just pick up the phone or speak to the SLO yourself, or write an email to them?

Well why not write to the club instead of posting on a fans forum for discussion where you won’t get a response.

Fairly simple. If you have an issue ask the question?

And why were at it do you have nothing to add to the poor form shown by your idol Jim Duffy last week?

Sliema, call Ross at the club and ask for the answers you seek

That’s how to see how transparent the club is, I’m sure he will take time to provide answers your questions (probably with much the same answers you were given already)

Much better than starting/continuing a campaign on a fans forum

As you suggest that should be the way to do things.

I’d also add that Ross McArthur, Bill Braisby, Kip McBay, Bob etc are always willing to speak to fans at games.

There’s a professional way to get a response and on here isn’t it

Canny wait till the season starts. Then the usual will have something worthwhile to moan their breasts aff about.

If something is too expensive or I think it's not worth the money I don't buy it. Plenty other things in life to worry about.

Anyway, that Joe Cardle is some player eh? Should never have let him go.

I think parsfan97 nails it, the poor home support and threat of the same at the cup games helped them change their minds. Also saying in the statement they based it on recent years pricing structure is not correct as the 2 links below show. Transparent I'm not convinced but well done to the fans who made the stand against the price increases.

Think the Hibs crowd on Saturday made £15 the right call not that it justifies it for the fans going to a friendly. Second half became a farce with all the changes.
