 Smoking in the toilets

No need for it! I can’t believe that people are still doing this in this day and age. Could barely breath in the men’s in the borrow at her today. Hopefully the club stamp it out immediately

Club should sort out a smoking section at half time, other clubs do it.

Totally, but regardless, it’s out of order for grown adults to hide in the cubicles and puff away

Do we not provide ash trays in the toilets? Easyjet does in their planes even though smoking is banned? What's that all about?

The reason airlines provide ashtrays is actually very logical. If some idiot does light up in the toilets where would they stub it out?

You'd think but said idiot might just chuck the offending ciggie into the waste bin which is filled with paper towels. The ashtray is actually a legal requirement.

Meant to say I think the opening poster was exaggerating a bit when he stated he 'could barely breath' because of cigarette smoke.

Imagine going to the toilet and it smelling bad eh! The sooner they make bogs for soft types the better. These threads are monotonous.

Imagine not being able to go a couple of hours without a cancer stick. How do they manage on planes?

Why does the club not shut the gate into the Norrie queuing area. Then be opening the exit doors from the Norrie into this area the smokers can stand there. Obviously some sort of ashtrays can be used. I am sure that the smokers would help pay for the ashtrays. That way the stadium would be smoke free and the smokers would not be breaking any laws.

I would argue the soft ones are the grown ass men that can't go a couple of hours without a fag.

If it's just me I tend to not be bothered, but when I take kids it's unfair they should have to put up with it.

I don’t think the fire regulations would allow that

I must be a big softie. I have always struggled to breathe in a smoke filled atmosphere. And I mean really struggle. Maybe due to my asthma, but hey! I must be a softie.

Same old story of selfish smokers who think that rules don't apply to them.

I’m still curious as to why people who choose to vape can’t do so within a stadium. I don’t smoke but know the north west allow smoker by the turnstiles at ht or at least they have on occasions.

Probably still a risk for asthmatics with vaping. Plus god knows what's in it. These people exhaling plumes of smoke is just antisocial.

Think about that the next time you drive to Tesco and pump all that toxin out the back of your car. Personally I prefer the smell of the vape stuff, especially berry’s or vanilla to regal any day, the lavys at east end smell like a florist or sweet shop👍

I would think that's it's hard to distinguish between vaping and smoking for the stewards so it's all banned

This has been going on in every stadium I have been in since the ban came in to place 13 years ago. Have the council bothered before now?

Pretty easy to stop it happening if the club wanted to. Its not like it's a new thing.

You'll always get a few selfish folk. I honestly think that the only way to solve it is a ban for anyone found doing it. Some folk will only stop it if they are physically stopped getting into the ground.

Two easy solutions. One would be let people out to smoke in the other stands like they do in the North West. The other would be to have 2 or three stewards in the toilet all through half time.

Worth keeping in mind why smoking was banned in stadia in the first place.

Let them out at halftime for a puff or two.
Problem solved.
Don't understand why people can't see the obvious logic in this.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

Many years ago I was at an Inverness Thistle v Dumbarton Scottish Cup tie (it’s a long story 😩) - we were given a pass at half time to go for a pint at the local hostelry - unfortunately we made the poor decision of coming back for the second half.

A pass out seems like a pretty simple and inexpensive solution.
