I heard on TV that both have missed the deadline. Hopefully both of them and Notts County survive.

That's 3 of the most historical clubs in the game-truly tragic.

Notts Co. now been in receivership a few times (founded 1862!) Bury FA Cup 2 times winners. Bolton continually seem to be bust.

All run by lunatics, and the debts seem to be unknown....can't see any way out-brutal.

A minus 12 point deduction would be +12 points.

So Bolton get paid a loan by PFA (a figure that would completely clear Bury's debt) to allow them to sign more players who will then add to the football creditors requiring 100% payment whilst existing creditors have had minimal payment in the last 5 months. Club has recieved no sanction for failing to fulfil last seasons fixture list and 4 days before first league games a REAL possibility that the season will run with 22 clubs.

^^^^ Maybe an opportunity for The Rangers and Celtic to join the English leagues after all.

🤞

I have a vague recollection that Bolton were flagged up as a financial role model for us to consider some years back.

Or am I talking mince ?

I think we may have copied some of Bolton's fund-raising schemes in the past. The clubs were quite close at one time. I remember we played them in a pre-season friendly. Was it maybe Andy Smith's debut match?

In 1985, Jim Leishman and Bill Braisby Sr went down to Bolton to speak to Nat Lofthouse and the Wanderers' commercial manager about their "Bolton Lifeline" and from that our Centenary Club was set up.
